Crash when game loading reaches 100%

All of a sudden, all my save games and online leagues are crashing ("OOTP has stopped working. . .") when the loading bar reaches 100%. I've got the 10.2.16 patch. Other members of my online leagues are able to load the files with no problem. I've re-installed both the league files and the game itself. I'm running on Vista, in Administrator mode. Any ideas?

I am actually having the exact same problem. Everytime I try to load a league, or to even start a new one, once the loading bar reaches 100% the game crashes with the "OOTP has stopped working..." message.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Same problem here and I'm on Vista also + I have the same version (10.2.16). I can't load my 1 saved league, can't start ANY kind of new league, and even worse; I can't unlicense because Window's can't find the shortcut.

I've uploaded two screen shots to show the error message I'm getting.

Please help.

I actually managed to fix this myself, although it involves losing all of your saved games but i'm just happy I at least fixed the game and can play it again!
Here's the process I used to fix it.
(P.S. WHILE I DIDN'T HAVE TO, I RECOMMEND MAKING SURE YOU HAVE A COPY OF YOUR LICENSE # BEFORE DOING THIS, IN CASE YOU NEED TO RE-LICENSE THE PROGRAM)

1. First things first, uninstall OOTP Baseball 10. (I did this using the start > All Programs >OOTP Baseball 10 > Uninstall

2. Go into your documents folder (the one with the "OOTP Baseball 10" folder) and delete the "OOTP Baseball 10" folder. Literally click on it, and hit delete so that the entire folder disappears (i'm suspecting the actual problem was a corrupt file in this folder, which was not being overwritten when a re-install was performed but a new fresh copy will get created once an install happens, if you delete it)

3. Download this Defragmenting Program Download Power Defragmenter 3.0 - This software will take the defragmentation process to a whole new level - Softpedia Called Power Defragmenter 3.0.

4. After Downloading the Defragmenting program, run the .exe file (not the contig.exe file, the other .exe file in the download) You will get four options: "Defragment File(s)", "Defragment folder(s)", "Defragment Disk", and one more option. Choose the fourth option from the top and run it (this can take a while).

5. After the defragment is completely done and you get a message that it was successful, restart your computer.

6. Once back up and running, download a fresh copy of the PATCHED OOTP install file from the ootpdevelopments website. Then install the game back onto your computer.

* This is the process that worked for me. Once I was done with step 6 the game was back to normal and I was once again able to start games without having the program crash.

If anyone has any questions about this, feel free to post them or PM me and i will try my best to help!

Dave -

Thanks for what you put up. But I'm worried about not being able to use my license again. I can't even unlicense mine because the "Unlicense OOTP 10" shortcut under "Tools" in the OOTP folder doesn't work. Windows can't find that shortcut.

Hoping the mods see this soon and answer our questions.

My own situation was resolved with deleting the OOTP10 folder from Documents when I reinstalled, also. I zipped up all my save games before I did, and they actually work fine now.

Wish that I would have known/thought of doing this beforehand but i'm just glad to have my game back up and running again.

Where is the saved games folder? I can't find it anywhere! lol

Did that get deleted along w/ my "Unlicense OOTP 10" shortcut somehow?

EDIT: Nevermind, found my saved games folder. Still can't work the "Unlicense OOTP 10" link though.
