Major League IV Now an OOTP X League
Major League IV has upgraded from OOTP 8 to OOTP 10. We have a solid core group of guys that have been around for a long time and looking to add some new faces. If your tired of joining leagues that come and go, look no further... Our League is setup as a histrocial league with a little modification or two. Like we have the wild card early. This keeps more teams in the race longer and I feel increased league activity and overall enjoyment for everyone. We are in fall of the 84 season getting ready to kick off the offseason on Monday with Arbtration hearings. So its a great time to get started.
Full League Name (Initials): Major League IV (mlbiv) Main URL: Home of Major League IV Reports URL: see above for link Boards URL: see above for link Commissioner(s) OOTP Forum Username(s): mlb4 Email Address: commissioner@mlbiv.com OOTP Version: Current OOTP X, 10.2 Game Needed: Required Players: Fictional and Historical # of Teams: 26 Export Deadlines Days And Times: MWF / varies League Time Per Sim: 7 days First Season: 1980 Latest Season: 1984 Special Rules & Settings: see Currently Available Teams: See below Take a look and see if you would like to come be a part of our league now using OOTP X Last edited by mlb4; 08-18-2009 at 01:26 AM. |

This league has a very good core of owners . We lost some guys due to the change to OOTP 10 but the guys who stayed are great owners. Lots of trading in this league and if you want to try to win against so great owners this is the league for you .
We just changed over and are waiting for owners. It is right before free agency and there are alot of players out there to get . This way you can build the team how you want and not have to wait long to see results. Give us a try and see how you stack up against some tough competition !! thanks Mitch |

Lost some owners? Try 18 which may be a new record!!!! No disrespect intended, but doesn't say a whole lot for the league. Good luck!

Major League IV is looking for fresh faces. The reasoning for the openings are many but not due to the lack of confidence in the front office in not only my abilities as a Commissioner but those of my Co-Commissioner. The league was established in 1999 and moved to OOTP in 2002. We have had our share of ups and downs as any league will over the course of time. There have been a few restarts in our history, two by choice and one not by choice but due to certain circumstances. The now 17 openings were not a mass exit by former owners; it has been a slow process over the course of several seasons. Some left and moved on to OOTP 9 when it came out. The majority of the league voted to stay with OOTP 8. We lost 3 when the league decided to move to OOTP 10 who couldn’t afford to purchase OOTP 10 due to their current economic situations which is understandable. Some owners have been removed for being inactive. I rather have an interim owner (an active owner who serves temporarily) or the A.I. fill in until a replacement is found. Over an owner that’s not active or no long has the interest in maintaining the day to day operations of his team. I recently looked at the numerous leagues I have collected in my favorites over the past several years that I have played Out of the Park Baseball. Sadly to say only 6 out of the 15 to 20 that I liked to check in on from time to time are still active leagues. One thing I can say about Major League IV with certainty is that we will be around for a lot longer, even if is only with an handful of owners. As long as they continue to enjoy their experience in the league I will continue to devote my time and effort into the league. |

The last couple years each of us had a team in the American and National league so we really did not lose 18 guys . Having fewer owners was nice since the ones we had were very active and competitive . We just thought that we would open it up and have a full slate of owners. Teams are filling up fast right so if anyone wants a team better act quickly .
As Byron said this league will be here along time no matter how many bumps we have . thanks Mitch |

Hey, just want to let prospective owners know that this is a great league. Being two versions back on the game slowed us down for a little bit, but it is well run, consistent and a lot of fun. Check it out.

I am a novice to this....but I would be very interested.....since the Mets are gone, I guess I will take Cincinnati. Figure since they had such a lousy record expectations can't be too high...LOL.

Just started in this league.....seems fairly active with a good commish. Best of all you get to play in the 80s which is pretty cool. If anyone is interested I think there are still a few teams left.
