Help needed!

Hey ...

I just recently burned my league folder onto a CD, to transfer it from one computer to another ... The burn was succesful, and I then dragged it from the CD into my OOTP file on my new computer, but now when I try to open the league up, I get this message:

Runtime error!

Program: C:\Program Files\OOTP5\OOTP5.exe

This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application support team for more info.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

At first I thought it may be that I hadn't patched the version of the game that I was moving the league to, but apparently I am running v 5.10 on the new computer as well.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I believe when you do this the file becomes "read only". You need to go in and uncheck the read only for it to work.

If that's wrong someone please correct me.

What leagues, if any, do you have in your OOTP folder? This is often the cause of runtime errors, when you don't have any leagues. You must have either the Career2003.lg folder, or a league with the name xxxx.lg (the actual name can be found within the setup.dat folder) inside your OOTP5 folder.

If you find out that you do not have any leagues in your OOTP folder, you must un-install and re-install OOTP.

Are all the .dat files unchecked? I assume you mean the "xxxx.lg" folder is unchecked, but you need to open it up, highlight all of the files, rt. click --> properties, and uncheck the read-only box.

We still need to know if he even has an xxxx.lg folder. If he doesn't, than that's probably the problem, but if he does, then like you suggested, he should make sure everything is unchecked.

Hmm ...... spoke too soon guys .....

New problem ... the game would crash when I went to click on a players ..... Then I unchecked 'Read Only' for all the files in the league folder, and that solved that problem.

Now I've finished a game, and the game crashes ... What gives? Is it possible that the new box score is created as read only, and somehow this crashes the program? Some more good advice would be appreciated JML ..... Thanks.
