Minor league free agent signings

If I sign a free agent to a minor league contract, shouldn't they go to the DFA list? I just signed one, and when he accepted the offer he immediately was assigned to a specific minor league team in my organization. I have control over roster moves on the Manager Option page.

That is the way it works in OOTP. An FA will only be put on the DFA upon signing if you've signed him to a ML contract. Something similar happens with trades, depending upon the type of contract the guys has when you acquire him. If you don't like where the AI put him, then you can make the move yourself to fix that.
