Fielding data importing

Does the game import all the fielding data? Specifically, I have seen in the data base the catchers have SB/CS info but it doesn't seem to be importing into the game. Johnny Bench and Jerry Grote import into 1969 with arms of 58 & 61. Joe Azcue with an arm of 81 and Jim French with a 91.

In fact all catchers have the exact same rating for their ability and their arm (ie, Azcue=81 ability, 81 arm).

Sorry for the delay in responding. So hard to keep up at this time of year!

Unfortunately I don't know the answer to your question, but I've called it to the attention of a few people who know a lot more about the historical side of things than I do (including Markus), so hopefully I can get an answer from someone shortly!

No these SB/CS are not used by Garlons fielding formulas nor are they used by the game for non-neutered fielding.

The Arm/Ability are as Garlon designed. I do believe they always match if you use his ratings.

So catchers with good arms also commit fewer PB's and vice versa. The ability rating controls passed balls, does it not? Not sure what else it effects. Possibly getting to bunts.

Yes, the ability rating does control passed balls, and also fielding bunts and short grounders, or making tags at plays at the plate.

The arm rating is only used for throwing out runners trying to steal.
