Baseball Simulated Online is Open for Business

Full League Name (Initials): Baseball Simulated Online (BSO)
Main URL: Baseball Simulated Online
Reports URL: BNN Home Page
OOTP Version: OOTPX 10.2.16
Game Needed: Required
Players: Modern with 2009 Rosters
# of Teams: 30
Export Deadlines Days And Times: 5AM ET Daily
League Time Per Sim: 3 Days
Special Rules & Settings: See Constitution
Currently Available Teams: ALL

Baseball Simulated Online is accepting applications for 29 openings. Anyone interested should check out the constitution to see if the proposed format is right for you. If you think you'd be an asset to the league, fill out an application. Please do not 'call' teams within this forum post. I'll be doing a lottery once I've picked 29 guys and gals. From that lottery, each person will have an opportunity to select from the remaining available teams (as opposed to first come, first serve).

Not liking the idea of a lottery? My experiences is that people have strong ties to certain teams. To join your league and then get "assigned" to the Red Sux who I hate, or other teams like the Nationals that I have no interest in, why would I want to put anytime into making that team a success? But good luck with running the league.

lottery

a lottery is not an assignment, it is a random order to pick teams based upon luck in getting the top picks. You get to chose what team you want if they are still available when it becomes your turn...............teams are not assigned to you.

Steve has it right.

To clarify: I'll be running 29 names through a random selector and then allowing you to pick which team you want. In this way, everyone who signs up gets a fair shake from the start. Feel free to shoot me a message if you have any other questions.

Baseball Simulated Online has 20 remaining openings as of this post.

By demand and discussion, the league constitution has been slightly modified to fit a larger demographic of OOTP X Managers.

Just wondering how many openings are left. I've already joined, but just trying to get an idea how soon we might start playing.

Adam,

Thanks for the question. We currently have 14 open positions and are issuing teams for those of you who have signed up. Once this is complete, a first come, first serve approach will be enforced to speed up the process. I estimate we should have a full league by Monday (07/27), though this may change depending on how things go from here.

I would appreciate anyone will to spread the word about the openings to do so.

Fred,

The site and constitution look terrific. I'm really impressed with the detail and foresight that went into everything. This league reminds me of the leagues I always liked trying to set up. Oh, and I LOVE the lottery idea...I always did the same thing when I was a commish with OOTP.

Why no post-trade deadline trading of waiver-cleared players? Just curious on that one.

Mike,

Thanks for the kind words regarding the league and website.

I would prefer the trading deadline to be an actual deadline, rather than allowing managers to send compensation to teams on players who clear waivers. As it stands, the MLB trading deadline is a bit of a joke. Teams who can't get it done in July can still fall back on the possibility of making a move in August. In this way, I've always thought deadlines should be final. I am however open to extending the trading deadline into August, though this type of decision might be best decided by the league as a group.

Mike,

You're definitely in. Right now, I'm still issuing teams through the lottery. I've sent you an email regarding this process. Essentially, it's my attempt at speeding up this process (which has taken a bit longer than expected).

As a side note, the league current has ten openings. Anyone interested should fill out an application.

While I've received over the amount required to fill the league, many applicants have yet to reply back with team selections. As a result, I am opening up team placement on a first come, first serve basis.

Anyone interested should reviewed the league constitution and check the league directory for team availabilities. If you're still interested, please fill out an application with the top five teams you'd be willing to manage.

I plan on releasing the league's file on Monday (07/27), so get your applications in as soon as possible.

This is going to be a terrific league by the looks of it so get in early while you have a chance to take a team from their original state.

Fred, when do you plan on releasing the league file? I'd love to get some time with it today.

Mike,

I've sent you an email regarding this, though I'll reiterate it here.

We should have a preliminary file this week, as I'm still working with feasibility studies as related to the international feeder leagues.

In addition, we have 11 remaining spots. If anyone is still interested, please reviewed the available teams in the league directory and submit an application.

Just three teams remain as we build up to our first simulation this Wednesday (August 5th).

Anyone care to manage the Astros, Nationals or Padres?

Be sure to stop by the league website and fill out an application.

Brandon Bebout,

Please email me at commissioner@baseball.simulatedonline.com

I received your application today but couldn't reply back because the email address provided was bouncing mail.

You guys still have a couple of openings for tomorrow's first sim?

If so my resume is definately something you'd be interested in. I'll take a look at filling out an application.
