Minor League Disabled List
As a minor league manage I'm assuming that since the game lets me disable my players that I have full authority to do so, i.e. it's not at the discretion of upper management. However, when I do so the only option I get is for a 7 Day Disabled List. Are there supposed to be others? And am I supposed to get a message when the player can come off the Disabled List? I'm thinking that if it's a really good player it may not be a good idea to disable him, any way, since he will be replaced in the roster and when he returns the upper management may decide to take him away from me since they have to take someone.

Sooooooooooo, does anyone know if you are supposed to get notifications when your players are eligible to come off the DL?

There's a box that you can check or uncheck in the manager's options section. Uncheck it so you wont be notified.

OOTP only recreates the 7-day minor league DL and not the longer term one. |

Thanks for the explanation. It seemed a little weird to me seeing only a 7-day option, but at least now I know why I do.

Can anyone clarify whether minor league managers are supposed to get DL notifications or not?

I tried to play as a Minor League manager when I first got X (X being the first version I've purchased). The issue comes from your major league teams AI still has control over your transactions. Moving players on and off the DL is considered a transaction, and the major league AI can (and will) handle this for you. You can test this by NOT putting a disabled player on the DL. If you don't (and he's sufficiently injured) the AI will put him on the DL for you too.
I eventually gave up on trying to manage a minor league team, because the way I was hoping to play it, would be to work my way up to the majors (I was playing inside the park demo while I waited for X release :P). However, if you just want to play a single minor league team and not take other job offers, you can probably fix most your problems by making a second human controlled manager overseeing your major league team. Then just set the settings to allow minor league managers to control their rosters, and put him on vacation (letting the AI respond to all the major league team requirements, and still allowing minor league managers to handle their own rosters and transactions). This will probably create new problems for you... I dunno, GOOD LUCK! |

I don't necessarily have a problem with the system as it's set up IF the major league manager will also take people off my minor league disabled list. Will this happen, or will they just be left there indefinitely? I would be glad to have him handle the DL for me as it's one less thing I have to worry about. I wasn't aware, though, that he would actually disable players when necessary, as I was always doing it before he would have a chance to.

It may be a possibility (just suggesting) that since YOU put him on the DL, the Major League GM is not noticing he's there.....

That might be the case as I never see them coming off, even when they are recovered. From now on I am just going to leave them on the roster until the boss decides to move them.
