Mourning player...

Anyone have seen this in the pbp?

He's 2 for 2 in the top of the fourth : does he have a "bonus" because of the heavy heart?

That makes me sad for him...

I like the new game!

Would be funny to see the same player get this multiple times.

I couldnt disagree more. It would be horrible losing multiple grandmothers.

He finished the game 2 for 5. He had no hits after the announcer told the audience about his grandmother... it's like a guy pitching a perfect game and suddenly the annoucer talks about it and everything goes wrong from that point on.

I'm telling you : this guy is gonna have plenty of time to mourn in triple A when I demote him at the end of spring training... wuss!

I'm gonna carefully watch the play by play, especially for this guy. Maybe he is a plagued player...

Watch out. I saw this once this season for a guy named Abner Abreu. Two days later he had bone chips in his elbow and was out 5 weeks. He has since had a setback in his recovery and will miss another 3 weeks. He still isn't back, so he just might be cursed.

I have to say it is a cool touch though, because it is something you remember seeing.

I'd ask to start seeing news clippings from the obituaries if he was on my team.

I just did. The thing is that it looked fake... She didn't even looked like him. She had a ginormous mole and a stach while he has a babyface. So I will order that costly exhumation with extended DNA tests.

The poor youngster is a wreck. I think I'm gonna give him a week off so he can put himself together. Maybe put him on the Emotional Disabled List. I found him sobbing in the shower yesterday, 3 hours after the game, in foetal position.

This vacation will give him perspective to fully appreciate the moment, to fully taste that special moment when I'll demote him to triple A... in 2 weeks!

Why not just wheel her old bones in here. I want to see this dead grandmother first hand.

this game needs a bereavement list for those 1 in 10,000 OOTP moments like this!

That's what we discovered during the exhumation!

I think it's legit!

I totally agree! Our players need psychological support! After all, money can't buy everything!

We could hire psychologists on our team. They could have ratings.

Gibson swings, and a fly ball to deep right field! This is gonna be a home run! Unbelievable! A home run for Gibson! And the Dodgers have won the game, 5 to 4; I don't believe what I just saw! I don't believe what I just saw!

Would.ve been more, erm, fitting, if it said:

Now pitching for San Diego: RHP Sima Milosevic

He's playing with a heavy heart...
Having learned that his dear grandfather...
passed away last night...
of a heart attack while on trial in the Hague for war crimes...
in the former Yugoslavia.

Into the windup...
