Simply Amazing - Mets 1969 and beyond

The Major Leagues have expanded and now there are two 6-team divisions in each league as we start 1969. The New York Mets, who finished 9th last year which was their highest finish, are listed as 100-1 shots to win the World Series.

Trades

4/03
- The Cincinnati Reds have parted ways with 33-year old left fielder Ted Savage in a trade with the Seattle Pilots for 25-year old minor league starting pitcher Marty Pattin.
4/06 - The Twins and Royals finalized a deal. Minnesota has traded for 33-year old reliever Dave Wickersham and in return Kansas City will receive 34-year old left fielder Bob Allison.
4/07 - The Washington Senators have sent 27-year old shortstop Ed Brinkman to the Seattle Pilots for 26-year old starting pitcher Mike Marshall.

I received a trade proposal from the St.Louis Cardinals. They are offering 35-year old first baseman Bill White and in return they are asking for 26-year old center fielder Tommie Agee. I decided to reject the trade.

I also received a message from the owner. The owner expects us to play .500 ball this season. Considering that we finished 9th last season, that might be a tall order but we'll try.
