HaHa,well in his defense,he's lost to Walter Johnson,Eddie Plank, and Rube Vickers, two potential HOF'ers and a one year wonder who's one year happened to be 1908.On top of that(or because of it) he's gotten exactly one run of support.

Nice to see you back at it. I hadn't seen anything from you in a while. I almost dropped following the Phillies in my threads because you were MIA.

Browns-3 White Sox-2 (13 Innings) The disappointing early season play of the boys from the South Side continued today,as the Browns administered the nasty medicine, defeating Chicago 3-2.The game's final run came courtesy of two straight White Sox errors, the first on a pickoff throw to first that sailed into right field, allowing speedy Danny Hoffman to move into scoring position, the second occuring on Roy Hartzell's follow up single to right that rolled through the legs of RF Ed Hahn, allowing Hoffman to score easily. National League Doves-1 Phillies-0 Boston starter George "Cecil" Ferguson(3-0) had all of the answers today, holding the visiting Phillies to just 3 hits and 2 walks while striking out 4 as the Doves defeated the Phillies 1-0.The game's only run came early on,on an RBI single by Dan McGann that scored LF Joe Kelley. The teams will play the final game of this 7 game home and home series tomorrow when the Phils Frank Corridon faces off with the Doves' Tom Tuckey. Giants-3 Superbas-0 The Superbas were anything but today, thanks to Hooks Wiltse's dominating performance in which he allowed just 6 hits and 1 walk in the Giants 3-0 shutout victory.SS Al Bridwell paced the offense, going 2 for 4 with a two run single, while first baseman Fred Tenney chipped in an RBI single of his own. Pirates-4 Cardinals-0 Bucs Starting pitcher Howie Camnitz(1-2) easily cut through the Cardinals batters today, allowing just 3 hits and striking out 4 while SS Honus Wagner showed why he's considered one of the finest in the land, going 2 for 4 with a double,2 RBI and a run scored as Pittsburgh easily defeated the Cardinals 4-0. Reds-9 Cubs-2 It had to end eventually, and end it did as the Cincinnati Reds pounded Cubs twirler Orval Overall(2-1) for 12 hits and 9 runs in 8 and a third innings to defeat the Chicagoans 9-2 and stop their win streak at 5.Third baseman Hans Lobert and LF Bob Bescher contributed 2 hits and 2 RBI each while starting pitcher Andy Coakley(2-1) contributed 2 knocks and 3 RBI of his own to go along with a fine pitching performance in which he held the Cubbies to just 2 runs on 9 hits. Thanks man, yeah I just had a few busy months there for a while with beta and all. Then I tried to play through the current MLB season with the game, but the style of today's game leaves a lot to be desired IMO,so thats what brought me back here.To tell you the truth,I really didn't realize how much I missed all of this.Once I got to reading everyones dynasties,I got the itch again and well, here we are.Hopefully you like the style of the new dynasty, with the league wide scope and all.Oh and one more thing too, since my last two dynasties had been derailed because of in game issues,I really took my time and made sure everything was just right here, and I mean everything. So expect this to be a longterm experience.

Red Sox-3 Highlanders-0 Boston twirler George "Sassafrass" Winter(2-1) pitched 7 tough innings, allowing 7 hits and 0 runs while relief man Frank Arellanes was perfect over the final two to give the Red Sox a hard fought 3-0 victory.Following the game, several Red Sox players banded together while laughingly singing "Tessie" in response to their serenading yesterday by Highlander fans. This is easily becoming one of the fiercest rivalries in the sport today. Athletics-2 Senators-1 (10 Innings) In the finest pitchers duel of the season so far,the Senators Walter Johnson(3-1) and the Athletics Eddie Plank(3-0) battled through 8 scorless innings before the Senators finally broke through with an RBI single by RF Dave Altizer, leaving "The Big Train" just three outs from victory, shockingly though with two outs and a man on second, the A's Topsy Hartsel delivered a game tying RBI double to send the game to extra frames where Eddie Plank himself doubled home Rube Oldring in the bottom of the 10th causing the frenzied fans to pour onto the field in delight. Naps-3 Tigers-2 (11 Innings) Cleveland twirler Addie Joss(3-1) won his third straight decision, scattering 10 hits and 2 runs over 11 innings in today's 3-2 victory over the powerful Detroit Tigers.George Stovall's 11th inning single and subsequent error on reserve LF Red Downs allowed Josh "Pepper" Clark to come home with the game winning run.In more bad news for the Tigers, starting pitcher Ed Summers was injured while throwing a pitch and had to leave the game early on,its not yet known how long he'll be out. National League Phillies-3 Superbas-2 (10 Innings) Following 5 scoreless innings to start the game, the Phils opened up the scoring with a 6th inning RBI single by CF Fred Osborn,Brooklyn came right back in the 7th to tie the game on a Joe Dunn Sacrifice Fly.In the 8th,the Phils again took the lead only to have Brooklyn tie it again in the bottom of the 9th on a Harry Lumley RBI single to send the game to extra innings where the Phils finally put the Superbas away for good on Fred Osborn's second RBI single of the game, this time, starting pitcher Tully Sparks(3-1) would keep Brooklyn at bay and the Phils would win it 3-2.Nap Rucker(1-2) took the loss for the Superbas. Reds-7 Cardinals-6 (11 Innings) No pitcher was safe today,as both teams took turns abusing the other's offerings in this wild 23 hit affair. In the end though,it was an error that would cost St Louis the game, when a passed ball by catcher Art Hoelskoetter in the bottom of the 11th inning allowed the Reds Mike Mowery to score and give Cincinnati the 7-6 win.2B Miller Huggins led the way for the Reds, going 3 for 5 with a stolen base, 2 RBI and a run scored. Giants-6 Doves-2 Giants 1B Fred Tenney, acquired from the Doves in the offseason in a huge 9 player deal, made sure that his old team wouldn't forget him when he connected on a majestic grand slam home run in the top of the 4th inning that put the Giants ahead to stay thanks to Christy "Big Six" Mathewson's(2-1) curves and slants that held the Doves to 2 runs on 9 hits and 4 walks. He also struck out 6 Boston batters. Pirates-5 Cubs-0 The Pirates continued their climb to the top of the National League standings with today's convincing 5-0 victory over first place Chicago.Bucs twirler Howie Camnitz(2-2) blanked the Cubbies on 5 hits and 3 walks to move the Pirates to within 3 games of first. Today's MLB Scoreboard

As the 1908 American League season rolled on,it became quite clear that the Tigers were the class of the field.Led by AL MVP Sam Crawford, the Tigers held first place from April all the way through October, winning the league by 10 games over the Senators. The National League was a different story. The Cubs,Giants,Reds, and Phillies remained close until July where the Cubs and Giants began to separate themselves from the rest of the league.Within two games of each other in mid August,it looked as though the national League battle would come down to the wire, but the Giants, led by NL MVP Mike Donlin and NL pitcher of the year Christy Mathewson caught fire, and won 37 of their final 46 games overtaking the Cubs and winning the league by 5 games. In the World Series, the Giants, thanks to Christy Matthewson's two shutout wins in games one and three, easily dispatched the Tigers winning the Series in 5 games to become the 1908 World Champions.
Final 1908 Standings
