Managerial Ejections

I think it would be cool to have the ability to get ejected from the game while managing. In this case the AI strategy would immediately take over and you are helpless to do more than watch. Or maybe even get suspended for a few games. Maybe this stuff is already in there and I don't know it. I'd also like to be able to argue the umpire's calls.

Informally, I've been doing this for several versions. Whenever I reach my boiling point for a game, I just hit sim rest of game on the bottom of the screen. It's like I've been ejected and I see how the rest of the game goes. The only key is that you want the AI set up in such a way that it doesn't screw you over on things like bullpen usage, etc. AFAIK, it's not formally in the game though.

This was in an earlier version...I believe it was in OOTP 6 or OOTP 2007. You could choose to argue a call and if things got too heated...well, "YOU'RE OUTTA HERE!"

Yeah, it was in v6.5 but it wasn't well tuned. It got to the point that you would be ejected every time you argued a call. After a while I just said no when it asked if you wanted to argue the call.

I'd be ok with it back in the game but with a better sense of consequences.

Well, not for several versions, but for the short-time that I have owned OOTPX!

I don't play out any games. I try sometimes but I get bored after about the top of the second inning and quick play the rest. As for getting thrown out of the game, it seems a little silly to me. And its one useless option that would take the place of more important things.

Arguing calls is part of the game, but I wasn't sure what the advantage was in OOTP. It seemed like it only got you booted? Were you suppose to get the close calls benefit in the future innings? I actually wanted to send out my other coaches so I could stay in the game.
