Yeah, I might have to move the Whalers back to Atlanta!
![]() And the Sharks just can't get it done in the playoffs. Same thing with the Flames. Also, I'm waiting for the Maple Leafs and Nordiques to do some damage in the playoffs, but it hasn't happened yet. I'm not going to post the scores each game of each playoff series anymore, it's getting to be kind of tedious typing them in. What counts is who wins the series, anyway. My favorite part of this dynasty is posting the teams' uniforms after they win the Stanley Cup. |

I've always liked the Sharks in real life. I'm sickened by how they choked against the Ducks in the first round of the playoffs this year. I was hoping to see a Sharks-Bruins Stanley Cup Final. I think that could have been great. Although the Penguins-Red Wings turned out to be great too. |

That would be great. Yeah, that would have been awesome. The sharks need a cup.

I should be posting the 1949 season results within the next couple of days. As you can see already, the Sharks finished in 12th place (73-89) and will not be in the playoffs.

1950 Standings
All right, the Sharks got back into the playoffs this year with an 86-76 record! They will be the #6 seed and will face the Coyotes, a very strong team who finished at 100-62.
It looks like the Sharks will become the primary focus of this dynasty. They are a team who has had many struggles, as they have made the playoffs only 18 times in 50 seasons. And when they do get to the playoffs, they usually get sent home after the first round. They haven't even made it to a Stanley Cup Final yet. I'm going to post the box scores of every one of their playoff games. |

Western Quarterfinals, Game 4
The Sharks have been swept right out of the playoffs. They were outscored 30-7 in the four-game series.
San Jose, a team that hit 244 home runs in the regular season, only hit one home run in the entire series (a meaningless HR in the 9th inning of Game 4). |

1950 Playoff Results
1950 Stanley Cup Champions: Vancouver Canucks
In the Conference Quarters, the Canucks trailed Minnesota 2 games to 1. In the Conference Semis, they swept #1 Chicago. In the Conference Finals, they trailed Calgary 3 games to 2. They were even down to their last three outs in Game 7. In the Stanley Cup Finals, they trailed Carolina 2 games to 0 None of this mattered to the Canucks, who fought back in three of their series to win their 3rd Stanley Cup. 1951 Standings
This year, the Sharks enter the playoffs on a hot streak. They won their last 10 games of the regular season to move up to the 3rd seed. They will face the Blackhawks, who have had great playoff success in the past. The Hawks are 4-time Stanley Cup Champions, and have won 8 Western Conference titles.

Sharks' Statistics Overview
Scored 930 runs (3rd in West)
Allowed 859 runs (12th in West) The Sharks are a great offensive team, but a poor pitching team. That does not bode well for playoff success, because we all know that pitching usually wins in the playoffs. San Jose led the league in: batting average - .273 slugging percentage - .506 extra-base hits - 645 home runs - 304 Javier Sanchez won the home run title with 58 long bombs. The next highest total in the NHLB was 52. Sanchez also had the most RBI's with 153. Last edited by jg2977; 07-01-2009 at 09:46 AM. |
