Can't progress to next season -advice?
I've hit "search" and have seen related issues but the solutions haven't worked...
My system Pentium 4 2.2 GHz Microsoft XP Home Service Pack 2 512 MB RAM 100GB Hard Drive with 32 GB currently free I have owned OOTP5 and played solo for a few years and it has run fine, with a few crashes here and there that I have solved. But I just recently tried to create a different type of league than I normally do: 2 subleagues, 6 teams in each 32 game season (a sort of World League to be played in the winter months) **the schedule was created by Stickware - 1st time I've used it, and I run it starting January 5 for approx 5 weeks 3 game championship series 20 player per team draft to be held June 1st The season ran fine. I finished it, but after the game got done generating the league reports and team reports, and got to the point of "proceeding to next year" the system crashed. The error message read ""Runtime Error. C:\Program Files\Outof the Park Developments\OOTP5\OOTP5.exe abnormal program termination. The application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way. Please contact the application support team for more information." I have read suggestions from other folks, but they aren't working. I've tried: defragging my computer renaming the league changing the number of players to be drafted changing the date of the draft reinstalling the game The only thing I haven't tried is backing up & restoring the league - I'm afraid to screw that up - haven't understood that one. The good news is that I can still look around inside this past season, and I haven't lost any stats. But I just can't proceed to next year. I don't want to dump the league as the teams are divided by nationality and it will take me a week to recreate everything. It takes a long time to find enough Australian players to create an Australian squad of 25 filled out at every position, believe me. ![]() Advice please???? THANKS!

Figured it out finally.
I had tried to start a season in January, which the game allows. However, the game isn't smart enough to reschedule the offseason draft, free agent signings, etc. Thus, the game crashes because "Joe Smith" can't be playing a game on Jan. 15 when he is supposed to be in the free agent draft on the same day.You need to start seasons 4/1 or after, otherwise you may run into what happened to me. Thanks for your advice everyone.

Glad you figured it out.
My FWIW-the game is very customizable - my thoughts: -You can make leagues with JUST ABOUT any options you want. -You CAN'T customize every single option and expect it to ALWAYS work. -Bottom line is that there is no way for a group of testers to try every possible option that can be tried. Thanks for your insight. -
