Downloading a league file

I'm having the same problem as plattej, but I have a mac and wasn't sure if the solution would be different. I downloaded a mac specific unzipping program, unzipped the file, and placed it in a .lg folder within the saved games folder.

When I went to open the saved game in OOTP, I got this error message: "OOTP cannot load this database because the file world.dat is missing!"

I'm not sure what that means. As far as I know I didn't miss any steps, but I must have done something wrong. Any ideas? Thanks.

You might have the same issue that he does. I would pretty much quote the same post that I gave him for starters to see if your issue is the same:

Quote:
Unless the league commish does it differently outside of the game, OOTP will upload the file as a leaguefile.tar.gz file. When you use most (but not all) applications to extract that archive it will extract the leaguefile.tar.gz file into just leaguefile.tar which you then have to extract a second time to get the files that you need. When you download the file from within OOTP, it does this double step for you (as do some Unzip or archive applications).

When you extract your file and look in your league filder, do you see various folders and .dat files or just one leaguefile.tar?

Thanks for the help. I extracted it the second time and it worked.
