in slump
when a batter/pitcher is in a slump, is the only way to get him out of a slump, to play him, or can he get out of a slump whilst on the bench?
I guess the same question could go to a plyer who's hot. will he remain hot if he's on the bench? i benched my catcher for a week as he was in a slump, but he is still, and am wondering if he will remain so till i start him |

Those refer to how they have been playing. So, if a player does not play...he cannot break out of a slump.

Those indicators are merely a way to let you know how a player has been performing. Them suddenly appearing is not the cause of the slump or streak - the slump or streak is already underway and that causes the indicators to show up to let you know.
At least, that's what I think. |

Yeah, this has been improved in OOTPX with the "Who's Hot" and "Who's Not" on the team pages. Those players will show up on those lists if they ALREADY ARE hot or cold.

ah, i see. so its based solely on performance, and nothing to do with 'frame-of-mind'.
