Game crashes at start of spring training

This is an online league transferred from OOTP9.
Windows

Everything seems fine until I get to the start of spring training. Then the game hesitates for a few seconds, then crashes to the desktop. It happens whether using the commish automator or not. It also happens when using just the .dat files with all other subfolders removed.

In case you need it, the dat files are here, if needed

bumping because I'd hate for the world's best online OOTP league to have to spend another season using OOTP9.

Just a little more info:

The league can be advanced to spring training in OOTP9, without a crash.
It can also be advanced successfully to spring training in OOTPX, if I BOTH allow ai roster changes and run computer manager. (Of course, that wrecks havoc on all rosters, but it may be a clue as to what is causing the crash.)

I have located what seems to be the specific cause of the crash.

In the Dog Days OOTP9 file, one team (Twin Falls) has four players whose data fields must have become corrupted along the way. One (Sugitani) is listed on the 40 man roster but has the # symbol indicating that he is not protected on the 40 man roster. Another (Sagar) is on the 40 man roster, with his team being his name ("Sagar" rather than team/league/level); he is on no team within the organization. Two players (Omiya and Villon) are on the 40 man roster with the team information column stating they are on the major league club, but they are not actually on the major league club.

In OOTP9, this does not seem to cause a crash when moving to spring training, but the file imported into OOTPX does crash when moving to spring training.

I have attempted to repair the problem by using the editor to make all four players free agents and then using the editor to make all four players members of the Twin Falls major league club. This results in the game advancing correctly to spring training.

Beorn,

Sorry it's taken a while to get to you - busy this time of year!

Thanks for your work narrowing this down. Based on your last post, can you clarify, is there still an issue here, or are you comfortable moving forward with the league?

Thanks!

Steve

I assume Beorn will get back to you.
I am in the league as well.
We are proceeding forward with spring training.
Wish us well.

Yes, I think we will be okay.

However, I still thought you should know, in case it applies to others.
