Inaugural Draft problem
I am new to OOTP...I have set up a new league from scratch with real players imported from historical leagues. I have completed the inaugural draft and all teams have 25 players, which is the roster # I set. I have played a couple exhibition games but when I try to advance to Opening Day, I get an "Attention!" message that the Draft has not finished yet. When I continue to the Draft screen, the round # is set to 30 and I don't have the option to change it (even though I have checked Commisioner Mode on all the teams in the league). When I push the "Continue Draft" button, a message saying "The Draft is Finished" comes up in the Selected Player box and there are no players listed in the available player area. I've tried the "Finish Today" button but it just gives me the message that the Inaugural Draft is not finished yet. This does not make sense and I've tried everything I can think of to remedy this problem. Any help would be appreciated.

In the Continue Draft option, do you have an Auto-Draft option? That should get you off the hook and be the equivalent of saying, "Here AI, you do what you think you need to do." Let me know what you find out.

Yes I think i have the Auto-Draft option but my fear is that the AI will add players (real or fictional) to the teams I have already put together and I don't want any additional players other than the ones I have drafted on the current 25-man rosters. What do you think?

I have the exact same problem.
Jan 1st completed inaguaral draft. All rosters filled. When I hit finish day...it would not advance to Jan 2 because... draft not completed. When I go back to try and finish the draft, no options exist to auto draft. No luck in advancing to Jan 2nd. |

Dave, do you have any other similarities to Mark's league? Was it historical, etc...

Didn't have game in front of me when I replied to your original suggestion...actually, I don't have the Auto-Draft option on the draft screen anymore. Any other suggestions?

1) Did you ever get this problem fixed on your end by some other means?
2) Depending on what operating system you have, you can usually just right-click on your league folder (inside the saved games folder) and one of the options will be to zip it up or .rar it if you have either of those programs installed. I'm not familiar with the other compression programs, but maybe someone else can give you more guided instructions. What system are you using? And do you recall ever installing WinZip?

No this problem has not been resolved. I did compress the game into a .rar file but that didn't seem to do much. The only thing I've been able to do is change the number of rounds...when I go into my league rules and enable the Amateur Draft, I changed the number of rounds and it was reflected on the draft when I was redirected there when I tried to start my regular season. I set the # of rounds as 1 but there are still no players listed in the Available Players area. Even when I disable the Amateur Draft option, everything remains the same and I'm stuck.

Did you .rar just the .dat files? If you didn't, please do. If you did, please upload the file to OOTP's server with the instructions in How to Upload Files to Us.
