L/R splits for park effects

Is there a resource somewhere that will give me seperate right/left values for homers and hits? Strat-O-Matic uses them, so the information must exist, but I don't know where to find it.

Just getting the 'modern' parks would help, but I'd like information back to 1960 or so.

There must be someplace. Dave Koch has stadium data splits for Hits, doubles, triples & HR's in his game. I have seen a place with those split numbers but I don't remember where. I will try to find it.

Here's a site with an excel file that has split ratings for ballparks but not the actual stats. I'll try to hunt down a place with actual stats if someone else doesn't come up with one.

Blog Archive Ballpark Factors Now Available!

Thumbs up

Styx, my man! That was EXACTLY what I was looking for!

No need to look up the raw data on my account, but if you want to post it here as a reference for others, be my guest.

OK, I've been so involved in the SimCity Societies that I didn't really want to tear myself away to look for the actual stats so I'm glad that was what you wanted. One of these days I'll look for the stats.

We have those too, but we didn't want to make them public yet because we were hoping to post them on the site instead of making them available for download. Let me know if you want them and I'll send them to you.

Those are from your site? Thank you. Someone else pointed me at the next six or seven years worth of ratings. I was wondering why they weren't all available in one file?

And I assume the data simply doesn't exist prior to 1956? That seems an odd cutoff date. Was there a reason for it?

Which database did you download? The one I'm looking at is an Excel spreadsheet with L/R splits for every park from 1956-2007.

Your assumption is correct. I'm not sure why data prior to 1956 is so hard to come by, but I do know sites like retrosheet.org are adding more information every day, which will eventually allow us to include pre-1956 park factors. In fact, I believe retrosheet.org recently added data for the entire decade of the '20s.

Sorry I don't know more, but my buddy Kevin is the one who puts these databases together. I just upload them to the site and make them available for download.

From the link StyxNCa provided above, I got an .xls file covering 1956-2000. I already had .html files covering 2001-2008 (one per season).

Is that what an Excel spreadsheet looks like? Darn, that's ugly (and hard to read)! And I could wish it was grouped by stadium, rather than by year. Still, it's information I didn't have before, so I'm a happy man.
