OOTP10 Won't work in Vista

I viewed the thread on making OOTP10 work with Vista, and after about 15 tries, got it to start up. Upon booting OOTP10, I get a game error that says cannot load each of the following (manual_page, manual_page_footer, manual_page_bottom_line, Text_Engine::my_load_text_file (file doesn't exist). The game then brings me to the main screen. I chose New 2009 Major League Game, insert a name, then an error comes up saying the world.dat is missing and cannot load the database. From there a system error occurs saying OOTP10 has stopped working, then the game closes. I have spent roughly 10 hours re-downloading, reinstalling, uninstalling, updating my system, troubleshooting, and searching for anything that would possibly work, and I'm out of possibilities. Anyone have any idea what's wrong and how I can fix it?

How big is your install file? The file may be corrupt and it may be stored in your browser cache. If you havent yet, try downloading the file in a different browser. Also, have you tried running the game in administrator mode? Right click on the desktop icon and click run as adminstrator.
