I think it would be fun. If you are the commish of a league and want are looking for someone to write let me know. I would like a situation where I could write pretty much whatever I wanted and would be like a real sports writer in the sense of interviewing team GMs and doing the whole trade rumor thing. . .etc

anyone else interested just keep em coming, I would prefer to write for a realand current league, or for a completely fictional league, I would like a league that has not been around for too too long so that it is not hard to get a sense of what teams are all about

If your offer still stands in, say, a month, I will get a hold of you. My league will have 100 years of fictional history, and a writer who can touch on historical facts would always be welcomed in the ABL.
Do you have work I can see, like a portfolio? As someone who's run the press side of things in many other leagues (150 pages worth of stuff a season back when I had nothing else to do... ; ) ), I kind of know how creative the writing can get. I'd like to see what you've come up with in past writings. Peace John -soon to be commissioner, American Baseball League |

Heritage Baseball League would welcome a beat writer. We are completely fictional and will begin play in about 3 week, but the initial draft is ongoing on the message board and plenty of article topics can be found there.

The heritage leaugue is of great interest to me, its small enough that I can get a good feel for the teams without too much trouble and it hasn't started yet. . . who should I contact to get involved?

Contact me at volunteer1967@hotmail.com
and you can start immediately!! We are in Round 8 of the initial draft and the league file is up to date somewhere in the middle of Round 7. Get the file so that you can see who and what is available and who's been taken. The draft is going on on the message forum. I'll either create a separate page for your "paper" or link directly to a site that you have to use for it. Its up to you. We are a sister league to Home Town Baseball and once we begin, our two league champions will face each other in an "exhibition" of 7 games for the mythical World Championship. Both leagues set in 1926 very soon and will run the same sim schedule. HTB is about mid way through 1925 now and once they finish, we will both begin 1926 at the same time. Until then, once we finish the draft, we will have a 40 game "preseason" to bide our time until HTB gets done with 1925. Inside the league file, you will find our customized stadiums also. |

If you write for the HBL, you of course must exhibit a strong bias for the delightful cast of characters who are the Duluth Derbies...
...just kidding.
