BZ 3277: AI Manager not doing his job
I have my game setup to allow AI roster moves, and under my Manager options I have it set so that my manager will setup lineups and rotations, but he won't do it. I have lost 5 guys to the DL in the first 2 weeks, and the new guys I brought up just sit on the bench as the manager doesn't assign them to the field or lineups. I've tried everything, and it just doesn't work.

Is it possible that you have "use 7-day lineups" selected? That is one way this could happen. The path to the 7-day lineup screen is a bottom at the top of the batting lineup/depth chart screen.

Can somebody check this? Under manager options, set it so that the AI manager controls lineups and then send down 2 or 3 guys to AAA or somewhere and bring 3 guys up and see if your manager inserts them anywhere in the lineups or field. Last edited by kckid4u; 06-06-2009 at 05:47 PM. |

That may not explain the problem you are experiencing. However, I'm not sure it's a bug, either. Do you have players going into exhaustion because the AI manager won't put one of the new guys in as a sub? |

Not sure about players playing till exhaustion. I will have to check that next. Good pickup on the manager thing Steve. Thanks for confirming this. |

If you are making the roster moves yourself, immediately go the pitching and batting lineup/depth charts screens and invoke the "manager sets lineups/depth charts" option. Then you won't be waiting for the AI manager to get around to doing that the following Monday.

I will ask Mr. Heinsohn if the AI only sets the lineups periodically on purpose, and see if we can get this etched in stone. If so, I'll update the documentation accordingly.
Thanks for your patience! Steve |

OK, I made a tweak. The AI usually resets the lineups weekly or when an AI transaction took place. In your case the transaction was made by you, hence the AI did not update the lineups. This is fixed now

I'm going to close this one out, then. If you see this behavior in a version later than 10.0.7, please post a link to this thread in Tech Support. Thanks.

Just to add a note, I recorded this as BZ 3277, just so we'd have a record of the change Markus made!
