BZ 3140: BuGS I Found to ME anyway
First one I saw was when I would read a message to me by a player it would say:
"I no longer wish to play for . and would like to be traded asap The ^ doesn't have the name of the team where the period is. I just wanted to play in Commissioner mode. But I had joined the Texas Rangers as a GM and then released myself from the job, but, through the entire year I kept getting messages for the Rangers GM even after I had relinquished the job and just stayed in commissioner mode. Did I miss doing something else to completely remove myself from the Rangers? |

You are probably still 'Acting As' the Rangers. At the top right of the screen, click on 'Act As: Rangers' and change it to None.

How exactly did you release yourself from the job?

That's exactly what I did and it still stopped play every so often to tell me something about the team. So, it's not working as designed when one clicks on NONE!

When you are in the game, in the top right corner, right above your manager name, is there a team name? Not "Act As: xxx" but just a team name. If so, then you are still actually managing that team, and you should go to Manager > Resign from Team to completely resign...
The easiest way to troubleshoot may be to turn off Commissioner Mode entirely from Manager > Options, to figure out what's going on. |

When I started another NEW league I just didn't pick a team to look at or setup rosters this time around and it simmed the entire year without asking me any question or telling me so n so is hurt and out so manyweeks. But I'm still telling you that if you go into and take a team and then later change it and pick NONE that it doesn't recognize that you have done that. It still carries you as the team General Manager even when it says NONE at the top. |

The Act As dropdown is only meant for temporary use. If you actually got hired as the GM and chose to Act As None rather than quitting that job, you'll probably get behavior like this. Are you still listed as the GM in the team's personnel section? If so, Act As their GM again and then quit the job from your manager profile.
