BZ 3237: Minor League Promotion - Ready or Not Ready?

So I'm looking at the Minor League System Report to figure out where my prospects need to go. For one of them in my Rookie League, it says Ready for Single A. So I promote him to Single A, and now it says Not Ready for Single A. So which is it? I don't really care if he's ready or not, I'd just like my scouting director to be consistent!

Does it say he is not ready, or may not be ready?

He's probably ready for short season A, which you probably didn't include in your setup. I wouldn't worry too much about following your Scouting Director's exact recommendations for minor league level placement.

Helpful. If it was a close call, it should say "may be ready for single A" when in rookie ball and "may be overmatched in single A" when in single A. Not "ready" and "not ready."

Well, and this is my fault for not being clear/accurate in my previous description of the issue, I do have Short Season A and that's what is happening. The scouting director says "Ready for Short Season A" for a rookie league player, and then when I promote him, says "Not Ready for Short Season A."

To me this is definitely an issue. And I do want to be able to rely on my scouting director's recommendations. I have an extensive minor league system and don't want to be monitoring every single player's stats/development to see when they're ready to move up. I like being able to see a report that tells me my scouting director's opinions. If you put a feature into the game, it needs to work.

This is what is said exactly when you promote and demote this player back and forth on the same day?

Do any other players exhibit this behavior, or just this one?

I've seen this issue... or one analogous to it at least with a few players, he'll be in rookie ball and the scout will say he's ready for Single A. Promote him to single A and then the scout says he's ready for AAA. Promote him to triple A and the scout says he's not ready for AAA, down to AA, and the scout says he's ready for MLB... all in one day. It's schizophrenic.

In my case I've only seen this in historical play though, I've not noticed it in fictional play. Whether that's due to not having played enough fictional to see it I'm not sure.

Jared, did you see this in a historical or fictional league?

Like Rand, it's all in the same day, and for multiple players. I haven't seen it to his extent, I've just seen it between two levels, but that may be because he's doing a historical league and I'm doing a fictional one.

Markus needs league files and the name of the affected player(s) in order to figure this one out. Instructions on how to upload files are here:

Well of course I've trashed that league and started over. Let me get through my inaugural draft and, assuming the problem repeats itself, I will happily send you my league file.
