Realism
Hey guys, I'm a new player for this year having watched baseball for the last three years or so.
Love the premise of the game, and the way it looks and plays seems great so far, but I'm unsure just how realistic it actually is so far, or whether I'm doing something obviously fundamentally wrong. I'm managing the Rockies in a 2009 major league season, and am currently 1-10 through the first 11 games. I realise the Rockies are far far far from being a good team, but it's not the record so much as the numbers that are concerning me. So far opponents are batting with an OPS of .990 against me, and the closest team to that in the NL has an OPS of .800, I've had 25 home runs hit against me so far, ten more than anybody else has had against them, and have walked 60 batters, again ten more than anybody else despite playing at least a game less. My hitting has been fairly constant so far, not very good (obviously at 1-10), but certainly seems plausible. The pitching numbers just don't seem right to me. I know Coors Field has a (overstated) effect, but only three of my games have been there so far. I manage games individually, and don't do anything particularly odd (I don't think), but I'd estimate 90% of fly balls end up being deep 'will it won't it' balls, and some go out and some are caught at the track. Just to know if anybody else has experienced these sort of fluke numbers, and whether there is anything I should be doing that might bring it back close to realism |

It may seem trite but sample size is small. Wait until 30-50 games before you hit the eject button.

Also, watch pitch counts very carefully. I also play out all my games and my pitchers get rocked quickly when starters get around 100 pitches and relievers past an inning or so.

The HRs seem to be too high on default settings. Wait for the SkyDog OOTPX settings which will give you more NLish stats. In my universe, through 81 games, teams are averaging over a HR a game a piece.

Dumb question, where do you pull up a screen that shows stats like you have in your screenshot. Have not seen that screen before. Thanks.

Go into Setup and raise the pitcher endurance/stamina setting to suit yourself.

Go to game settings and strategies and switch SP endurance to normal or high.
