I completely respect those who have had problems with the not so "new" interface. Somehow I was lucky and this set up worked for me. Must be some sort of cognitive thing because I find it seamless for my needs.

Does anyone else think the regular player profile should be the default click with the right click taking you to the HTML? I rarely ever look at HTML player pages.

Is there a reason it is this way, since over time this adds a ton of extra (unneccesary IMO) clicks?

From what I've read here a lot of people agree with you.

If I'm looking to trade Bob and George off I'll go talk to Atlanta for a while... can't find a good match there so I switch so I can talk to Philly for a while, but I have to go find Bob and George again. Why is a good question...
I'm wanting to talk to multiple teams about trading Bob and George, no good reason(beyond possibly code issues) why I should constantly have to add Bob and George back into the window.

You also get a message from the other team immediately. Nothing as simple as the old "who would make it work" button but you get feedback.

I just tested this out and tried to trade someone to KC... throw up a KC player and it says "I'm sorry, but I will not accept trades that include vastly overpaid veterans." I know it's useless to continue talking to KC about my player now.
I change my player and it now says "OK, that doesn't sound to bad. I agree to execute this trade now."

Personally I like challenge, but I want instant gratification and feedback as well. IMO this does both, it's more challenging to put together a trade, and I get feedback so I don't sit and waste my time waiting on an email that probably won't be worth reading anyhow (especially when it comes near the trading dead line).

There is a make this trade work now button, which will tell you what players on your team will complete the trade. (instantly)

It seems ok to me. Im coming from 6.5 shich I love and the adjustment it takes to acclimate to 10 is minimal. There is a lot more detail but it is intuitive to handle and I havent been having a problem with it.

It's a lot more complex but I like that. It will take longer to fully digest and learn it all and become expert with it.

It's a nice step up in detail from 6.5.

There's just no accounting for taste, is there?

I have been really close to liking it in the past, but then something happens which makes me hate it again. Not being able to adjust your minor league transactions quickly comes to mind (both an AI and interface issue).

I haven't played this year's version yet, so maybe it has taken that next step.

I must admit, the HTML player card is greatly improved from what I remember.

That's my one gripe, which sucks because I tend to overlook my minor leagues now. However that one negative is small to me. I miss the arrows and stuff =/

So there is. I'd not noticed that before.

I keep on hoping that Markus will bring the arrows back one day. They were great.

There are so many things people complain about with the interface that they can't do or wish it was easier to do, but it almost always turns out that you can do it, they just didn't know how.

Of course, that's 50% user fault, 50% designer fault. A really slick interface enables a user to not really have to "figure out" how to do things. A really slick user can figure things out anyway.

There are quite a few such inconsistencies and issues in OOTP's interface. Nothing major, but enough minor things that, to the aesthetically minded at any rate, they can get annoying.

I classify the OOTP inferface as workmanlike, which means it gets the job done fairly well, but it isn't as pretty or efficient as it could be.

BTW,

I didn't say the line attributed to me above. Someone else did I'm fine with the interface because I have been using it for a few years. There are definitely some peculiarity to it but I don't mind.

Markus needs to rewrite the interface anyway to allow for mass select.

There is still an influence from SI's Football Manager when you look at the interface but it is much better than the first "post 6.5" version!

Read the manual line-by-line when you set up a league.

Going from OOTP6 to OOTP10 is a huge jolt. I was so overwhelmed I didn't even play a league using OOTPB 2006 because of the difficulty.

You have a huge learning curve.

But given time and study, you will adjust to the new interface.

I loved OOTP6.51, but it is not in the ballpark in comparison to OOTP10.

There were 5 shutout news stories in OOTP6.51.
About 200 in OOTP10.

I'm sure there are other comparable comparisons in other areas of the game.

PBP is far, far better in OOTP10.

It is a far more complex game than OOTP6. Hence a far more complex interface.

OOTPB is a great game. We just have to adjust to the changes that are made version-to-version.

Really? So far I'm finding it really, really dry. Every play reads the same for me - no colorful descriptions of great over the wall catches or TOWERING SHOT or the like, so far...
