All Star Game Not Scheduled Properly

When I create a fictional league, the all-star games are not being scheduled correctly. The computer schedules a three day break but places the all-star game on the last day of games before the break.

For example, the all-star teams will be announced on July 5th and the game will be on July 7th. Yet all the teams are scheduled for regular season games on the 7th. At the same time, there are no games scheduled for the 8th through the 10th.

Thank you in advance for your attention to this concern.

A few questions:

1. Can you go to Game > Game Setup > League Setup > Options and tell me how your Schedule Options are set? (All of them would be great.)

2. Can you tell me your league structure? How many subleagues, leagues, divisions, teams?

Thanks!

Steve

No problem.

- Start Date: April 1
- The options for "force start" and "auto adjust date" are not checked
- 162 games
- "Balanced schedule" is checked
- Series length is 3 games
- The schedule was loaded from file iln_bgy_g162_t8_c_a1.lsdl

The major league has only one subleague with two divisions of four teams each.

However, I have noted the same problem in a major league with two sub-leagues, each also with two divisions of four teams each. I have also seen it happen in a minor league with a similar structure.

Just an FYI, but you can open OOTP schedule files in Notepad. Though the schedule files have an .lsdl extension, there are essentially plain text files.

Further question: do you have the "Automatically schedule All-Star Game" option enabled in addition to enabling the "Hold All-Star Game" option?

Also, it may be in the schedule file itself the All-Star Game is set to fall on the last day of the break (some real-world minor league schedules do this).

Thanks for the info. I do have "Automatically schedule All-Star Game" enabled in addition to the enabling the "Hold All-Star Game" option. However, when I did try to schedule the game automatically, the program ignored the date that I set and scheduled it differently.

In my case, the All-Star game is not set to fall on the last day of the break, but rather on the last full day of games before the break.

If the schedule file has an All-Star Game date specified in it (it'll be listed in the header of the schedule file as:

allstar_game_day="XX"

where XX is the number of the day in the season the All-Star Game falls on, e.g. 90th day, 100th day, etc.

If that's in the file, you don't really need the "Automatically Schedule All-Star Game" option enabled. That option is intended for schedule files without a specified All-Star Game date; the game selects the approximate midpoint of the schedule, adds a three-day break, and puts an All-Star Game on the middle day.

If you have the option enabled and there's an All-Star Game specified in the file, the game gets confused.

Thank you for clarifying this for us I'm gonna close it out.

So remember, no need to set "Automatically Schedule All-Star Gme" if using an imported schedule!
