Hey, I think it is the guy from Strat-O-Matic...

If he loves it, then everyone will love it.

I notice that the player profile has a "suggested role in" section. Does this mean that a guy with two good pitches would default to a bullpen role in the Majors, but could be forced into the rotation of, say, a not-very-good indie league team?

The guy you have here would be John Smoltz after he turned into a reliever Or a Jose Mesa, or an Eckersley...
Good explanation. I'll take your word for it

Change leagues and you may notice the effect. Guys that would be bordeline starters in the majors (due to endurance issues or a lack of pitches) may make excellent starters in the minors. A major league starting pitcher will need at least 3 pitches to be successful in OOTP 10 (unless he is a knuckleballer).

A couple of quick observations after simming a few years.

-Looks like the problem with being able to load up on elite relievers in the ammy draft might have been fixed as ive been seeing the computer taking the elite ones as soon as the 1st round.

-I cant seem to find the individual pitching ratings on a players webpage. Are they not on there?

So far the game looks very promising and am looking forward to playing around with it furthur.

My download needs to finish before I notice any effects!

But, yeah, I guessed that this would be the case for affiliated minors -- since it would be impossible to build a staff at Rookie-ball level if starting pitchers had to have three pitches (unless "piggy-backing" were simulated; but that's another issue).

I was just unsure as to whether the effect would be duplicated in "bad" foreign and/or indie leagues.

Yeah, but what do YOU know about OOTP?!?!?!?

By the way, any chance you might find time to work on that hockey game you mentioned a few years ago? Even if it didn't start life with the same high standards as the current OOTP, I'm sure it would grow. I believe you would find a market.

The new custom Logos look nice. I was going to add a custom logo to my fictional team but the one that appeared looked so good I decided to keep it. Kool Beans Man!

Okay, I have to ask. Under "team reports" or elsewhere, can you get aggregate team statistics broken down by month, week, lefty-righty etc? In other words, can I find out my TEAM'S batting average for June in addition to how each player performed? I've been asking for this for 3 years now. please, please, please....

I'm wrapping up my final season and plan on ordering X in a few weeks. Can't wait to hear more reviews from you guys that already have the game.

One thing that bothers me immediately: For MR/CL that have dynamite ratings and only have two pitches (obviously condemning them to bullpen roles in OOTPX), why bother giving them a 9/10 Endurance rating?? That just seems odd to me. Are they going to be able to pitch every night? Go 6 innings in relief??
It would be interesting to see how Carlos Perez from Afino's screenshot would fair in a starting role...Would he be effective for a few innings and then start to lose it as the hitters see him for the second time....How will these pitchers be effected if you do indeed start them? Your Perez guy would be a perfect test subject to see how he would fair as a starter compared to a reliever...
