A June release is both good and bad for me. On the good side, I will (hope to) have it before the long flights to and from Manila and Tokyo and Guam and maybe Hong Kong (so I can play it on my laptop on the plane, taking off on the 18th and coming back in July). The bad side is that I don't plan on having anything to do with my laptop while I'm in Asia outside of killing flight time. I'll have two weeks or less to noodle around with it before flying out and I plan to work like a dog during those two weeks.

You're correct, it's just a thought...total speculation actually. In fact I'm new to OOTP so I don't have any experience in how they've done things in the past. However, I'm aware that there are business entities out there that do make business decisions based on similar considerations in their industries.

By the way, I've very much enjoyed playing ootp so far and I'm looking forward to getting the next version of the game...my preorder is in.

I don't really get the need for all of the mystery around the release date. If they know it's going to be the first week of June, just say which day of the week the official release would be. I know the development cycle is probably a little different for a game like this, where it isn't a huge development company, but announced release dates are so common. Still hoping they are aiming for a standard Tuesday release, which means the pre-order day could be today.

I don't think the intent is to "hide" the release date; my guess is that there are a few things to be tweaked and when that is done we'll get an email. If I'm right, then one morning we'll all wake up and have a link to the download in our inbox (pre-orderers will anyway.) Worst case scenerio we'll get an email one day saying preorderers can start downloading the next morning.

I can't fathom why the release date would be intentionally kept a secret when we all know it will be released within the next week. If Markus new, we would know.

If you pre-ordered, you'll be emailed at the address you provided during the ordering process with a link for the download; yes, two days prior to the official release.

Yes, a purchase confirmation with my order ID to activate the game. It would be a good idea to check if the email is in your spam folder, maybe you will not receive the important email this week if you have never receive the original one.

I have access to my spam folder and always check it. I did print out the order so I have the order id, so I guess no problems there. How would I confirm if they have the correct e-mail address?
