In relation to this idea, one thing I would like to see is the ability to ask the owner for additional funds to sign a certain player to a new contract. I realize this is possible in the current version of OOTP by simply going into Commissioner Mode temporarily and offering a contract to the player in question and then going back to normal mode when done, but I just feel like I'm cheating when doing this as the CPU teams do not have the same options and often lose players that they would otherwise keep if they were able to do the workaround like I do.

And to people saying that it "has to be optional" - why wouldn't it be optional?...pretty much everything is!

I agree. This idea is awesome.
Furthermore; When I GM as the Jays I want a contract that expires etc. I know this is pretty much eye Candy but I just hate the idea that i'm on this contract that never expires unless I get fired. It would also be neat to have a salary just to see how much you can get offered. Kinda a pissing contest but would be neat none the less. Yes this doesn't add any sim value but for me it would increase immersion. |

And what about having to take on a new manager persona at some point? I know you could force yourself to do this manually, but I'd like an option to set that doesn't allow a manager a 100 year career.

That's a good idea. Combine it with dingus4ever's contract idea, and maybe age 75 is the last year the game will offer you a contract or extension. That might let you GM up to age 80. The only guy I know of who beat that was majority owner of his team.
