So, how many of you impatient pre order folks...

So, how many of you impatient pre order folks dont own any other games and will apparently die if the same isnt released in the next 30 minutes?

Just to let it know, those of us with a life, who arent as dramatic, want it just as soon, but wont complian like were holding hostage insulin form a diabetic....

I'm not impatient. I know the game will come out when it's deemed to be worthy of release. I have absolutely no problem with that. Like many people here, I'd rather have a polished product than have something that was thrown together just to make some sort of deadline.

I just think taking orders for the game and then almost completely disappearing is a very poor way to run a business. It's kind of like going to a restaurant, making and order, and then not seeing your waiter/waitress again for an hour. I'm not saying an independent developer should give a detailed run down every morning, but checking in at least once a week or so with a short, simple update is a common courtesy that should shown to one's customers.

Unbelievable the apologists on this board. Those of us who paid their hard earned money for a baseball game that we had every right to expect would be released sometime around the start of the MLB season have EVERY RIGHT TO BE AGGRAVATED. And we have every right to come here and bitch. My money in that guy's pocket has given me that right.

And you apologists...instead of flaming anyone who dares bitches, you ought to be directing your flames at the game dev who is not only screwing me, but you too! Your just to freaking stupid to realize it.

My money is in his pocket and I have nothing for it. I have every right to bitch and will continue to do so. The combination of no game and you apologists have made it highly unlikely that I will ever buy this game in the future.

I just want to kindly point out that there was never a mention made that the game was going to be released around the beginning of the MLB season. The announced date right at the start of the preorder period was Spring 2009. I'm not being an apologist, I'm just pointing out fact.

I'm antsy only because it's my first version of OOTP.

...Which also means I've got no previous version to hold me over.

and so i guess as long as it comes out before June 21, we have no right to bitch? Give me a break.

To just say it will come out in the spring, is asking for trouble. it allows way too many assumptions to be made. I find it amazing that you apologists find it outragous that there are those of us who actually had the nerve to think that a BASEBALL game.....a ML BASEBALL game with a "spring" release would come out sometime around the start of the MLB season!

Nope. I'm not saying that. I don't really care if you bitch. I just wanted to clarify that you weren't misled on the release date.

Apologists? How about realists!

You clearly have never dealt with games developpers on this non 'Mass Produced' scale like this. (No like EA as example) This type thing is not only common, Ill go one step further that missing release dates is almost expected in the industry. If this was a fantasy shoot em up game, not having to coincide with something real like MLB, it would probably be easier pill to swallow being late.

If 30$ puts you out so badly, you should spend the time you spend bitching in here and find a better job or maybe get a paper route to suppliment your income.

Although OOTP is the cream of the baseball sim crop, I highly doubrt Marcus has takenb the money, bought a private jet and is on his way to his own island as part of a master plan... when all the bills are paid be developpers, you woudl be suprised how little is left. I dont believe this game will sell over 250,000 units will it?

I love OOTP but have to agree with this. I know Markus is very busy but why couldn't they just authorize some beta testers to post previews? Isn't that what they did last year?

I didn't expect the game before mid June so I'm not really upset by the delay but I'm surprised that we went so long between updates.

I think OOTP 9 was released on 6/18.

There was another thread listing release dates that shows Marcus has released in May/June more often than before the season started.

You always had the option of waiting to buy after the product was released. Or as is generally the case, waiting until he does announce a release date (like today) and STILL get the discount.

I could care less if you like my posts or not. I posted on this forum because I was not pleased with what was going on. And only an apologist would think it outrageous for someone who paid money months ago for a product and still has not got it to be unhappy.

you want to continue to sing the praises of this guy, and that he can do no wrong, and how we should consider ourselves thankful just to be waiting for such a wonderful product, be my guest.

However, as a consumer, I have a right to protest when my money is in the guy's pocket, and I have nothing to show for it.

don't like it.....TUFF!

Show me where I have done this? Where I have praised Markus in the light youi have described above or where I have said you should be thankful to wait?

I pointed out, as others had, that a little bit of doing a forum search that the game isnt historically released on time.

I also mentioned, in case you have never been invovled with PC game releases, that with smaller games developpers this size, this is not unusual. This was in case you were ignorant of this fact, which I mentioned as a courtesy.

Dont bitch the water is hot, if you didnt put your toe in to check before.

You can call me an apologist, I believe you are nothing but but a troll...

So that means you do care.

The proper expression, of course, is "I could NOT care less".

This bastardization of a perfectly wonderful expression is right up there with that new so-called word, "irregardless", as an example that it's the end of the world as we know it.
