Shaun put a screenshot of the UI and someone named Big Dummie responded with "looking good, ready to purchase", all cuz of the UI. Nothing else in the game is done, but he's ready to buy. If I'm Shaun, I'd take his offer.

Markus was foolish to give a deadline of a season that a lot of people think ends in May sometime?

Yeah, he may have been smarter by saying "On or before midnight, June 20, or whatever time the equinox takes place.

Something tells me Markus could care less about the ramblings on these boards right now. And I can guarantee you it doesn't bother him to see people wanting the game to be released. I'm sure he's happy to see demand for the game. If people weren't crying for its release, then there would be a problem. Only people it annoys are the people on this board. If people want to know when the game is coming out, let them ask. Who does it hurt? Get over it. Don't reply to the post and its off the front page in a day.

I'm glad all of you speak for Markus and care about his feelings getting hurt by all these requests, but I can assure you he'd rather have the demand then not have the demand, so no need to protect his fragile state anymore.

So you're able to assure us of what Markus wants. Does that make you the only one allowed to speak for him?

Going back to the original post.

I give up on wolverine studios. I love there games but they are really bad when it comes to telling ppl anything. They keep announcing games but then you hear nothing else. Grey dog software to has this problem to. I guess its just part of this type of business. To me the first one to make a football game will own the sim market. Now both of them have announced football games but I don't think they will ever make one. Especially grey dog.

I'm hoping we don't have to wait till the equinox. Not even I have that much patience.

The game is using the same engine as Shaun Sullivan's Puresim game. Puresim is my full time historical baseball game and a great product. OotP X will be my first purchase from this company and I am going to use that only for a fictional league. However, I probably wouldn't have even considered that if Wolverine had released their new baseball game. For a first timer dealing with OotP this is a rather disappointing experience. At least with the upcoming Wolverine product I have a working version that is still viable, whereas with OotP I gave them my money and have nothing. Perhaps I'm naive, but I really thought that a 10 day demo of OotP 9 would get me through until the release of X. Personally, I wouldn't care if X is the last version made, as I don't plan on buying an future versions unless there's something earth shattering in them. X will do everything I need in a fictional league game for years to come.

That was not my point. I am trying to contrast our minor frustration over the proper timing of OOTP 10 release versus the lack of any sign of production over at Wolverine Studios. I mean, come on, the guy even says at one point that he's been too busy playing World of Warcraft to work on his game (in the Site Traffic/Interest thread).

There are some true fanboys over there who keep posting "We're waiting patiently, Shaun. Take your time" in spite of the fact that nothing appears to be going on. It will be interesting to see if my post survives on that board - I keep checking.

Thanks. That was my point. Here, we are just waiting for game release still within the timeframe announced, not over a year with no solid sign of any progress at all.

You might be interested in Shaun's response to me. His flippancy does not matter. It's his next post in that thread that is the most telling.

Follow the link in OP. To his credit, he answered instead of deleting - I will give him that.

One guy thought I was nasty. Sad is more like it.

I made a reply over there, as well. I really wasn't holding my breath waiting for the next incarnation of Puresim, which is too bad as I really enjoy it. I think that Wolverine's business model is flawed. Why would they contract, or whatever they did, with someone whose real job is not the development of his personal pasttime application?

In the thread over there Wayne23 said the following "It's not that you promised anything, Shaun, you're right. I think the problem is- and I'm not trying to trash this company, I love their products, warts and all- anyway, WS announced a bunch of new games, and announced them pretty much in rapid fire succession, and then... nothing. I'm sure they didn't plan it that way, but it has to be really bad for business. Those of us who play these and other games are at least partially grown up little boys and we want our toys and we don't want to wait for them. That's human nature, at least for grown up little boys. A lot of disappointed customers, or potential customers is not a good thing, and the announcements that led to nothing have not helped this company, sadly. I've moved on to other games, produced by other companies. I'm sure I'll come back to DDS:CB, since it's my favorite, but at this point I don't expect anything here, and I'm not very enthused about what may be coming any more, equally sadly. I'm not pissed, I'm just not enthused, which is probably just as bad for WS."

This to me is why I don't expect anything from them. Now I do believe that DDSPB2 will come in the not to distant future but as far as all the other products I don't expect anything to happen. I think they annoucned music wars, DDSPB2, DDSBaseball, DDS Football, and faceoff hockey in about a month or 2. Well they released music wars(haven't tried it out) and should be releasing DDSPB2 hopefully this year but the other games, especially the football and baseball, have been ignored.

This like grey dog software annoucing plans for a football game 2 years ago and then saying nothing useful about it.

I am glad there are companies out there, like OOTP and Sports Mogul, that we can trust to put out a game every year.

I'd love to get the new version of Puresim to see what is new and how far it has come.

I don't think that the changes were going to be over the top and dramatic, mostly bugfixes and some much-requested improvements. Unfortunately, though, I fear that we may never actually get a chance to see it.
