Reserve rosters
I am trying to simplify a fictional league which currently has two levels of minors, and go to a league in which each team just has a 25 man reserve roster. From what I've read, it seems that the reserve roster players don't generate any created stats to evaluate them on for promotion. I wonder how some of you make decisions on bringing players up to the majors? Secondly, are there any general suggestions on how to use the reseve roster system to make for better game play? Thanks!

I picture them following the team on the road and staying at the Flea Bag Hotel instead of the Marriot with the rest of the team.

Re: Reserve rosters
Should not the reserve roster really serve two functions. Granted that some of the players will be major league capable players that are on the roster to be called up in case of injury or poor play. Yet with no minor leagues, general managers must use some of the reserve roster spots for young drafted players that will be, but are not yet ready for the majors (i.e. class A or AA players). I'd like to hear from any board members that have experience with using the reseve rosters this way, or anyone that hase some take on how to best use the reserve roster. Do the ratings rate all reserve roster players on their current major league capabilities?

Players on the reserve roster do get sick... and I think I saw where they were injured on occasion. |
