Just a bump in case anyone wants to create a player for the 1894 season. TBC will enter the '93-'94 offseason on Monday.

Another bump as we near the close of the 1895 season. The first three new creations can get in for the 1896 season, which will start next week.

Bumping again - we start 1896 on Monday, so there are a couple of days left to get a player in for the new season.

If your still looking to add new players, I would like to add a pitcher, Eric "Elf" Frontz, SP 6'9 255lbs, throws Slider, Curve, Fastball and the Knuckler if you will. Born Raleigh NC, Lives Cadiz OH

Up to you what you do with him, but just in case.

Thanks

Sure, submissions are always welcome - thanks for creating a player. He'll debut in 1900.

Name: Ransom Miller
DOB: 7/29/1883
City: Macon, GA
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 132lbs
Debut: 1900
Bats: Right
Throws: Right
Position: 2nd/SS

Bio: The son of a cotton mill foreman, Ransom was born in the sleepy town of Macon, Ga just 85 miles from Atlanta. Ransom always showed a talent for the athletic and could outrun any boy or man in Macon. Most folks thought with his small size and inability to put on much weight he was going to be a track and field superstar, there was even talk of him getting to go to the University of Georgia on a track scholarship since his grades were decent enough, he would be the first in his family to ever go to college.

Ransom had picked up baseball from the other boys in the sandlot and was an admirer of the local team. He was the best base stealer anyone had ever seen and could make infield hits out of the surest outs, but the thing that surprised everyone was his arm, how did a kid so small pack such a wallop in that little arm no one know, he was near perfect at SS and at 2nd base most of the boys that played with him couldn't remember the last time he booted or bobbled a ball. But can he hit, was the question often asked when people started to talk the kid and the answer always started out something like this; "Well, he don't it far", and he didn't but he had a good eye and patience and the uncanny ability to slap the ball into holes most people didn't even imagine a ball could get through, he was all about pure contact get on first and let his feet do the rest.

The University of Georgia did come calling when Ransom turned 17 to run track for them, he asked about joining the baseball team and was told that it wasn't an option as he could be injured and was needed on the track team. He kindly turned the down. What the University of Georgia didn't know but everyone in town did was that a few days earlier a man had come from the professional baseball league and spoke to Ransom about playing the game full time, and Ransom had already accepted.

:I know my bio is pretty long, feel free to trim it down however you need. I figured instead of telling you about his baseball skills I would write them in the story:

Thanks!

Thanks for the new submissions.

Rock - have you seen how well Barbella's doing? He's pretty much the best hitter in the league right now.

It's nice to see a small flurry of sign-ups.

The league is about to enter the 20th Century. The 1899 season will wrap up on Friday and the NL will be contracting from 12 teams down to 8 while the Western League will be renaming itself the American League in preparation for going head-to-head with the Nationals in 1901.

There are several openings if anyone is interested in running a team and managing "your guy" as he makes baseball history.

Chicago in the NL (has a temp GM right now) and the following AL teams: Baltimore (the future Yankees), Cleveland, Detroit, Philadelphia and Washington are available. You'd need OOTP 9 to participate (and we'll eventually switch over to OOTP X).

The raiding that will take place in the 1900-01 offseason is going to be really interesting.

For anyone who's interested, you can d/l the league file and check out the league. Simply d/l the full or small (dat only) files off the TBC homepage (installation instructions can be found by hovering over the links), then logging in as "League Observer" - no password is needed. You'd be able to see if you want to be a GM, and even if not, you can update daily and follow the league from within OOTP 9. I sim Monday thru Saturday, 15 or 16 days per sim (we cover a month over the course of two sims).

The link for the league can be found in the TBC logo and line below it in my sig.

Does it require owning the game and if so, which version?

Yep - OOTP 9 and eventually OOTP X (that's obviously down the road a bit, we won't convert right after the new version comes out, but sometime after that once the kinks are worked out).

I got 8 and probably wont upgrade except to 10, skipping 9. So, maybe once you upgrade to 10, I will join if you have openings

Awesome. I wonder how many of the taters were inside the park. I'd guess all of them...

Bumping back to the first page in case anyone wants to add a player for 1901. Because the AL is jumping to ML-status, I will add up to three created players for 1901.

It's been awhile, so I figured I'd give this a bump in case anyone wanted to create a player the 1909 season which should get started Wednesday.

Not to threadjack, I graduated from EHS two years ago. I couldn't care less what our football team is doing now... but I do know that we beat you my Jr. and Sr. year Thanksgiving games.
(And I played hockey, anyway)

It's kinda neat how you see these people on this, or any forum, and then discover someone lives near you, well, it's somewhat intriguing.
