Pre-Ordered OOTP 10 ... last played Season Ticket Baseball 2003
Hi everyone,
I recently pre-ordered OOTP 10 and of course can't wait until it comes out! I last played a game in this series when I owned Season Ticket Baseball 2003. I've been out of the baseball sim world for a while (only owning the original STB and STB 2003), but really had a great time playing those games before! So since I'm coming back into this world, I was wondering if some people could answer some questions for me. Is OOTP 10 still the same user friendly system that I remember the STB games to be? Will it take me a while to learn the game with so many enhancements? Maybe just a quick summary from people to catch me up would be very helpful. I was one of those who bought MLB Front Office Manager for the PC and it was AWFUL! I couldn't even get the game to start on my laptop or desktop because of a graphics card issue. I'm not the most computer savvy guy (my wife is much better, lol) so I had her check my laptop settings and it appears that OOTP 10 should work. I also saw a discussion about checking in every 5 days online to play OOTP 10? Can some explain that to a PC moron such as myself? My laptop has Windows Vista. Any help that any of you can give will be appreciated. Thanks! |

The connecting to the internet thing only applied to the Mac/Linux license, and has been changed anyway.

You might want to check out the OOTP 9 demo... the game has changed quite a bit since STB2003. There are alot of improvements, but the game is more complex.

Ditto on that. The interface can be pretty daunting the first time you try to find your way around, but after a bit it all becomes second nature. You should definitely think about spending some time with the OOTP9 demo so that you'll be up to speed by the time X is out.

And FWIW, I've heard that OOTP9 was a much better game than MFOM is, and OOTP10 should be even better. |
