PA/IP bonuses

I'm sorry to present you with this total n00b question. When I offer an IP or PA bonus to a player, is the IP or PA total cumulative over the whole contract or per season? Since I probably haven't asked the question all that clearly, if I offer a player a 3 year deal with a bonus for 500 PA, does the player have to accumulate 500 PA over the course of 3 years to get the bonus or does attain the bonus in any season in which he surpasses 500 PA?

Maybe there should be an option to have a bonus that is over the the contract. Eg, a 3 years contract, if the player gets 1500PA in that time they get a bonus at the end of the contract.

Il like having performance bonuses in the game and wish there were more of them, like making the All-Star Team, hitting 30 HR, etc.
