Draft Pick Compensation
Is the draft pick compensation system used in OOTP the same as the one in real life in regards that if a team has a first round pick in the first half of the draft then they can not lose that pick regardless of who they sign during free agency? I've played a few seasons before and been compensated but last year I lost one of my pitchers to a team who is drafting in the top half and i wasnt compensated so im guessing this holds true in ootp??? thanks

The Type A Compensation is first half protected. If the team signing is in the top half of the 1st round, they do not lose their pick to the former team of the FA.
So it is like MLB in that manner of the system. |

I thought the part of the manual covered what you wanted to know. ![]() I did not even check what was written when I gave you the link... What CecilCooper said above is correct.
