Wild-Card Plays

This is continued from the whole Mike Piazza thread

Anyone have suggestions for wild card plays to be included in future versions' PBP? Such as colliding fielders, fly balls lost in the sun, bench-clearing brawls (and subsequent mass ejections), hidden ball put-outs, steals of home, injuries resulting from collisions with walls or other players, fan disruptions, forfeits for various reasons....

Please add to this!!!

Some of these are already a part of the pbp but they are "rare" as they should be. I've personally seen, colliding fielders, bench-clearing brawls, balls bouncing off players head, wind-blown homers(and not).....probably some others I can't think of.

I agree these occurances should be extremely rare. Although since I play out every game and have never seen colliding fielders, yet have seen several triple plays, there may need to be some adjusting

I know in the past this has been mentioned, but I will mention it again: I think OOTP5 is amazingly conducive to customization, but I think the ability to edit and customize play-by-play and news items should be considered. These things are almost as important as actual game play in keeping the players' interest high.

Just a thought

Heh, Fans on the field at Comiskey shouldn't be rare.. more likely uncommon per 9 innings.. but not rare

Think of what some would do with custom pbp:

" Williams hits a soft grounder to 3rd...
Should be no problem for Smith...
WHAT THE?....
Smith is being mauled and torn apart by what appears to be a group of rabid wolves....
Oh my! That has to smart!"

Oh yeah, you could really have some fun with that.

Morganna the Kissing Bandit, could have her around for the 70's and early 80's..

Lightning strikes injuring players

Man, the possibilities !!!

I've played over 1500 games, counting from OOTP4 (maybe another 500 or so in OOTP3), and have yet to see a triple play. So I don't think much adjusting need be done. I do think catcher's interference needs to be adjusted, since I see this at least four times a season.

I'm happy to hear colliding fielders exist. I've personally seen inside-the-parkers, runner's interference with 2B trying to turn a DP, wall-climbing HR robbers, players slipping on wet grass, and line drives ricocheting (sp?) off pitchers for both safe and out. Wind-blown events (wind blowing fair/foul, HR/out) happen almost daily, but I've yet to see a wind-blown error.

I recently came across a dribbler fielded by the C, and the throw hit the batter in the back. He was initially safe, but ruled out for leaving the basepath.

I still want multi-error plays, who's-got-it?-Nobody!, and run-downs.
