I just got my Baseball America 2009 handbook the other day. I should have studied it a little better before i was so quick to take Houston over Toronto for the league. The only team in the league without a prospect in the top 100??? I better have some good draft days!

Cubby, thanks for releasing the rosters, they are great. I am underway with my Phils dynasty but I had a question about the suspension to Romero. He is still on my active roster, and I can't seem to add anyone to it. I think I read that 9.2.2 was supposed to fix a suspension problem in the game where the players kept playing despite suspensions. I am about to play my first game (I simmed the first couple and he didn't get into either) and was wondering if he's actually going to be usable despite the fact that he's suspended? I would just find it very strange if he's not usable but I can't add anyone else to my active roster. Thanks for anyone who can help me with this.

I am running Linux and the game is the ootp9 demo which I believe has no limits to functionality, just a time limit.

1. Put CF2009v3.lg in my saved games folder
2.started the game and all logos and stadiums are fine but the player uniform#'s such as Derek Jeter are incorrect (he has #30) and no face shows up, just the Yankee logo. If I create a facegen for Jeter and then paste his real photo over it via editing software, his photo shows up.

I have tried and tried to get the player photos to work the normal way of putting them in the Images folder but this never worked. I tried jpg and png versions. The only way is the facegen paste method.

Anyone have a clue?

Cubby fixed uniform numbers in his most recent version, which he should be releasing either today or tomorrow, so in v3 they won't be correct. As for Jeter's picture, I believe I read once that files were case sensitive on the Linux version, so it would have to be named Derek_Jeter.jpg, not just derek_jeter.jpg, for it to show up in game. Hope that helps.

Updated hitting ratings
Updated pitching ratings
Top 30 prospects all included and accurate team by team
Correct player numbers for players on a 40-man roster or most NRI's
Fixed random freezing bug
"Ghost" leagues removed
Transactions updated as of 3/2/09
Player photos updated for players who have joined new teams

Waivers and DFA are on -- so if you want those off, turn them off before you start. I would perhaps advise to not claim anyone yourself for three days per usual, the computer will try to pass some guys through waivers.

In a previous version already:

All 2008 history/statistics added
All MLB players re-rated
All minor league players re-rated
All coaches accurate throughout every league
All stadiums accurate throughout every league
Updated prospect rankings
Accurate salaries
Accurate injury ratings for MLB players
Real life financials (used 2008 payrolls as a baseline)

Might release this in a mini-update later this week, but it's purely cosmetic:

Change pitching ratings/pitch types

Cubby, I can't seem to get the new rosters to work. After I download and extract them, when I try to load them I get an error message stating that it "could not load world file." Any idea what I might be screwing up?

Athos, not sure if this will help but when you unzip the file it is named Cubby2009v4.1, that unzipped folder should contain a file with the same name in it.
That's file that I put into the saved games folder of OOTP.
I'm having the same problem with the league file I'm trying to download, same error but only on my laptop which has Vista. On my desktop with XP I can upload the league with no problems. Hope this helps.

Cubby or anyone else.....If we turn scouting on in your roster set, all of the scouting budgets are $0. Do we need to establish a scouting budget for each team then? We can't have scouting on and leave the budget to $0, right?

Not too familiar with the scouting aspects to be honest, but I would guess so. I would increase all budgets by the amount you increase scouting by as well.

Also make sure you guys are using the latest patch, it causes a crash I believe if you try to load on an old patch.

Figured out how to find these coaches and delete them! It'll be fixed in a mini-update tonight!

Team Personnel

When I made the minor league team's independent for a short moment, it assigned them all GMs/trainers/bench coaches which gives each minor league team about an extra 1.5M payroll. I should be able to go back through tonight and delete these extra guys, fixing the problem.

In the next file can you please release all minors scouts. There are only supposed to be MLB head scouts now (according to OOTP9 manual) so having all the stud minors scouts available in the personnel pool rather than assigned to "dead" positions would seem to make more sesne.

It looks like the development and aging speeds are all back at 100 in the newest roster. Just a heads up in case you didn't mean to do this.
