Funky Questions.
I am trying to recreate a fictional league that we have lost due to a hard drive crashing. The teams are fictional, and there are 12 teams per division. We are using real major league players with a $100,000,000 payroll per team.
If someone could give me a hand with these questions, I would appreciate it. 1. How do I edit the contracts that players have? I want to set the league to have all first year players make 300K. After that, salaries can progress as usual. 2. I want to assign each player to each team manually, as I am recreating rosters that were lost. I set up an innagural draft, with each team controled by me, but I can only seem to have the AI draft players. |

OOTP Baseball Manual - Player Editor 2. You can manually draft players for all the teams by becoming a commish. (In your manager option page) OOTP Baseball Manual - Manager Options

Ok, I understand your answers to the questions I had. However, after I have released all players, I cannot seem to find a player in the draft portion. I tried to mess around with the filters, but the only thing that I can do that will present me with a player option is to clikc the "ask scout tab." It's as if the draft is not recognizing any of the players.

Could you explain what exactly you did to set up the league, from what roster set (or the in-game MLB roster that comes with OOTP) you used, to how you released all the players? Then I could maybe help you out!

I used CubbyFan's newest roster. I created a game, released all the players from their teams, and recreated the league with 12 teams in each division. I set myself up as commish and adjusted the league financials. When I goto the Inagural Draft screen, I see all of the teams in 1-24 order. I made myself control the first team in the draft. When I click the "continue draft" icon, the FIlter, view all players and the such do not bring up any players on the list. The only way I can see any player at all is if I click "scouting director recommendation" on the lower right.
Ideally, I would like to be able to go through the entire MLB roster and move the guys to the team that they were on prior to the league, that I am taking over, was erased. Thanks for the effort to get me on the right track. |

I do not think you did anything wrong, as far as I can see. Two questions. 1. When you released all the players, did you use the "release all the players and do the inaugural draft" option, or did you just release all the players after you created the league? Read the link below carefully. There are two options to have the inaugural draft. OOTP Baseball Manual - Inaugural Drafts 2. Can you see all the players in your draft pool? (Not while you are in the draft, but you have the option to go look at the draft pool from your transaction screen, you know) OOTP Baseball Manual - Draft Pool *You could also assign the players to whatever team you want, by going to player editor page. (Even though it will be time consuming...)

I was reading the manual, and noticed one thing.
You can only "release all the players and schedule inaugural draft" in preseasons. OOTP Baseball Manual - General Functions What day is it in your league? If it is not the preseason period, then it is possible that you released all the players in a wrong way, like released all the players from your roster screen... OOTP Baseball Manual - Roster Functions I am not really sure, but t is possible that you MUST use the "release all the players and schedule inaugural draft option from your league function page, in order to have a proper inaugural draft. I assume you checked the inaugural draft option at the game option page before you start the games, and then released all the players via roster function, instead of simply using the "release all the players and schedule inaugural draft" function at the league function page. I think it is a possibility that it is causing the problem. * These are all my pure guess, so do not forget to save your game file, before/if you try what I reccomended you here.
