Stats for Historical rosters

When starting a new game and loading a historical season, are the ratings and stats based on the year to be simulated or the prior year ie
I load 1964 season, are the players stats rated for 1964 actual results or the prior year?

It depends on which recalc option you choose: 1-, 3-, or 5-year.

1-year: 1964 only
3-year: 1963-1964-1965
5-year: 1962-1963-1964-1965-1966

You can also choose to double the weight of the imported season. This would increase the weight of the 1964 stats from 1/3 to 1/2 of the total.

3-year: 1963-1964-1964-1965

Not sure that is true. The stats and ratings are loaded before you get to the point of expressing a preference for recalc. For example, if you choose to have recalc turned off, you are still going to get ratings.

From what I could tell with a little bit of experimenting is that the initial ratings are always created using the 3-year basis. Ratings for subsequent seasons would then be determined based on your preferences for recalc.

If I am right about this, then I think it would be good if the game gave us some options for creating the initial ratings.

If this is true, then it would make no difference the first year whether you chose 1-, 3-, or 5-year recalc. But I know from experience that it DOES make a difference the first year. Try it and you'll see.
