I've decided to go old school and start a new OOTP2 League! Its called Super Uber Base Ball, Yo! (SUBBY!) and will use fictional players from the war years only (WWI&II, Korea, Vietnam, Grenada, and Desert Storm).
We will simulate one game per day, 3 days per week, in order to give our managers the ULTIMATE IN CONTROL! Baseball was meant to be played slowly, to be savored like a citrus wine cooler or premium malt beverage. I am planning a number of league premiums, including an annual convention in January at the Roanoke (VA) Top Suites off of I-81 (this year in connection with the Steve Perry THUNDERCLAP! Tour). I am also interested in trying to raise some ivestment capital to create a line of league keychains, coffee mugs, and organic chocolate, all emblazoned with the SUBBY! logo. Anyway, I would love to hear from you! I realize OOTP2 is old, but it does have some advantages, including a clunky interface (I prefer to call it unique), illogical development (again, I prefer "quirky"), and serious simulation issues (which veteran gamers refer to as "Fog of War"). Please reply on this board or send e-mail to SUBBY@shuebox.com. Alright! Fight! Fight! Go! |

I'd join, but only if you are using the real oldschool boardgame version of OOTP2 with the player cards, cardboard infield, and pair of 5 sided dice. GM's should have the option of stopping the sim if they want to visit the mound and do a pitcher stamina roll. I'd prefer using the "Wind blowing in from right field" charts for all of my evening home games, and I'd also appreciate house rules to enable more results from the "Once In A Million Years Rare Play" booklet.
About the league convention: I am always available for fake baseball league conventions as long as they don't last for more than 10 days and are held in a well ventilated area. I have never seen Steve Perry live, but I did see Eddie "Two Tickets To Paradise" Money once, and many consider him the poor mans Steve Perry. |

I'm in too, but only if we use the Clutch charts. And don't forget that on every roll of 6 on the dice there is an intentional walk, but only in the 9th inning with the power hitter on deck.

Doooood, sweeeet. Subby, if you need some help with that merchandising campaign, just post your email and I'll send you my VISA number and a copy of my signature. It's pretty easy to forge.

I'm in, but only if I can have the Seattle Pilots.

I'm in, too, but only if I can have my 13th Level spellcasting Orc both pitch and play OF. His alignment is Chaotic Neutral, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Will this be a "pants optional" league?
