Junior to the M's is hardly a done deal, just read today that the Braves are getting in on him

Don't listen to him - release ASPA - some married men still want to play with the set when the wifey goes to bed.

Planning on a release tomorrow night -- PECOTA is now out so I've done a lot of re-ratings.

I noticed that Aaron Hicks doesn't develope as batter. His ratings for hitting both current and potential stay the same through multiple years although his pitching ratings change.

Take your time.

Should be interesting to see how the variables in the game engine create disparities from the PECOTA projections. And fun to play with the absolute beast PECOTA believes Matt Wieters will be (although if you want to use Bill James' otherworldly projection for him, I won't object).

Just out of curiosity: does the new file with Markus' recheck allow for the use of coaches at any point? Or will this set always require coaches and scouting to be turned off? No big deal either way, just wondering.

It's not out yet.
When it will be released, a link will appear on the first message on this topic.

I was planning on combining PECOTA/CHONE into one averaged projection for every player, but as it turns out, PECOTA deals with our game engine and "editor projections" almost perfectly. AVG/SLG/OBP from PECOTA are almost spot on when you put in what PECOTA predicts for 2B/3B/HR/BB/SO/SB. While I'm planning on deviating for some players (PECOTA seems to just slam players who had a bad year, I don't think we really expect some of these guys to have .450-.500 OPS), for most of the guys on an MLB roster with significant time, I use the PECOTA #s adjusted for ballparks.

As much as I love CHONE/MARCEL (whichever your bag is, they're basically the same system), park adjustments seem to be done differently in them so that they are not constant across players on the same team. Whether or not this is intentional I'm not sure, but it also does not translate to in-game as well as PECOTA does.

Should allow us to use coaches now too I believe.

Thanks for all your work Cubby.. I'm assuming your file contains all logos, uniforms, settings for realistic trading, etc.. ???

So it's basically a download, install and off I go?

Also, is it ok to use ghost players in the minors yet?

Thanks,

Todd

Trading settings, favor prospects - neutral, etc...

Also, are injuries set to "low" the most realistic setting?

I'm sure opinions vary on what the most "realistic" settings are, but further, since those settings can all be changed in each individual game, I don't see how it matters what settings Cubby puts on the set when it is released.

How do I edit this?!? I'm sick of being offered Clay Buchholz when I "shop around" Scott Rolen.

Go to Game Options, go to AI settings, and the trade settings will be there. You need to be in Commissioner mode.

If you want realism, set the injuries to the highest setting. That used to be the default but was changed due to public outcry. No one likes injuries, but no one likes to examine real world injury lists like those on CBS Sportsline.

All I ask is that you look at this link on two days, Opening Day, and July 4th.

MLB Injuries - CBSSports.com

Then, tell me if you have ever seen OOTP produce the sort of carnage listed at that link.

It doesn't REALLY matter.. I just know Cubby plays around with various settings as he sims his roster set.

Also set Secondary Rosters to 70 because people like Morgan Ensberg were signed to Minor League Contracts but invited to Camp but will be put on the Teams 40 Man Roster after Spring Training is over and also might set the start to be at the start of Spring Training not 1-1-09.
