Planning on a release tomorrow night -- PECOTA is now out so I've done a lot of re-ratings.

I noticed that Aaron Hicks doesn't develope as batter. His ratings for hitting both current and potential stay the same through multiple years although his pitching ratings change.

Should be interesting to see how the variables in the game engine create disparities from the PECOTA projections. And fun to play with the absolute beast PECOTA believes Matt Wieters will be (although if you want to use Bill James' otherworldly projection for him, I won't object). Just out of curiosity: does the new file with Markus' recheck allow for the use of coaches at any point? Or will this set always require coaches and scouting to be turned off? No big deal either way, just wondering. |

As much as I love CHONE/MARCEL (whichever your bag is, they're basically the same system), park adjustments seem to be done differently in them so that they are not constant across players on the same team. Whether or not this is intentional I'm not sure, but it also does not translate to in-game as well as PECOTA does. Should allow us to use coaches now too I believe. Thanks for all your work Cubby.. I'm assuming your file contains all logos, uniforms, settings for realistic trading, etc.. ???
So it's basically a download, install and off I go? Also, is it ok to use ghost players in the minors yet? Thanks, Todd |

I'm sure opinions vary on what the most "realistic" settings are, but further, since those settings can all be changed in each individual game, I don't see how it matters what settings Cubby puts on the set when it is released.

All I ask is that you look at this link on two days, Opening Day, and July 4th. MLB Injuries - CBSSports.com Then, tell me if you have ever seen OOTP produce the sort of carnage listed at that link. |

It doesn't REALLY matter.. I just know Cubby plays around with various settings as he sims his roster set.

Also set Secondary Rosters to 70 because people like Morgan Ensberg were signed to Minor League Contracts but invited to Camp but will be put on the Teams 40 Man Roster after Spring Training is over and also might set the start to be at the start of Spring Training not 1-1-09.
