For the 2110 season, I gave the New York Yankees a little "boost" in fan interest, cash, and I allowed them to spend freely with their budget. As a Yankee fan, it got a little bit frustrating not seeing them in the playoffs in the first nine years. As a result, they dominated the regular season, finishing 126-36. Hey, this is my league, I'm the commissioner, I can do whatever the heck I want.

The first round should be exciting, as they are playing their rival Boston Red Sox. Since the playoffs are such a crapshoot, and their best pitcher is out for the season with an injury, it would not be a surprise to see the Yankees lose in the first round. My Hartford Whalers sold their soul to the devil in order to win the World Series back in 2103. Since then, they've gone completely into the tank.

The Cleveland Indians are the best run franchise in baseball. Year after year they are in the playoffs. They are the only team to win two World Series.

Finally, I just wanted to point out the domination of Yankee first baseman Mark Wooten. In 10 seasons he has batted .357 with 570 home runs and 1536 RBI. He has a career on-base-percentage of .435 and OPS of 1.136. He has won two triple crowns. He spent his first six seasons in Anaheim, and then signed as a free agent with the Yankees.

Here are his home run totals per year: 53, 52, 79, 55, 41, 61, 59, 54, 61, 55. He's only 32 years old, so he still has a ways to go. However, he may be like A-Rod in the postseason. In his only playoff appearance, with Anaheim, he went 2-22 in six games without a home run. I'm curious to see how he does in the playoffs this time around.

2112 World Series: New York Mets vs. New York Yankees

It's the Subway Series. The center of the baseball universe is in New York City. Both teams are in their second World Series. The Mets were defeated by the Tampa Bay Rays in 2107. The Yankees beat the Arizona Diamondbacks last year and are looking to repeat as World Champions, as well as continue the American League's dominance.

Game 1: Mets 8 at Yankees 12
Game 2: Mets 15 at Yankees 0
Game 3: Yankees 5 at Mets 4
Game 4: Yankees 6 at Mets 5 (11)
Game 5: Yankees 10 at Mets 4
New York Yankees win series 4-1

2112 World Series Champions: New York Yankees

The New York Yankees are kings of Major League Baseball as well as New York City. The Yankees won all three games at Citi Field to defeat the Mets and win their second consecutive World Championship. The American League is now 10-2 in the World Series and has won seven in a row.
