i used the updated coaches.dat file and can now advance a day but the second i try to go to the free agents screen it crashes....any ideas?

I'm not sure where you are at with this Cubby, since your last few posts are deleted. But I've been looking at the set and it looks fairly good so far - haven't really played it out so I can't be sure about that end. So far, the minor errata I've seen:

-Jon Garland's stuff rating is still too low, IMO. It results in his being waived by the Dbacks pretty early on.
-Jeff Weaver is erroneously retired. Sorry I didn't catch him before, but he just signed with the Dodgers.
-Cliff Floyd to the Padres
-Joaquin Benoit of the Rangers is out for the season with rotator cuff surgery

I appreciate all the hard work you've done. I'm sorry the process continues to be a frustrating one. As always, if I can help, let me know.

Ok Cubby, I inserted the coach.dat file into my game and restarted it and so far I have simulated a couple days with no freezing or crashes. It seems to have possible worked for the time being...I will keep you posted

Alright well...keeping you posted that worked well until the end of the season. Right after the World Series it locked up then crashed. I reloaded a few times to verify and 3 times in a row, right after the last game of the Series, crashed to desktop. Got me all excited there for a minute

My game keeps crashing at 08-28-2009, which is frustrating, because my Rangers were kicking ass, man. Adam Dunn was on pace for around 58 Homers.

Yeah I'm not going to screw around with it anymore -- it seems to not really be fixing anything, just delaying the inevitable crash. Hold off for now, Markus is taking another look at it today.

Hey, thanks a ton. I don't wanna come of as ungrateful, because I'm not. Even with the freezing issue, these rosters are still kick-ass.

The only thing I can come up with is that I messed up something on my end when I got the fixed files from Markus -- he just tried a five year sim and it worked without any crash.

I'm going to try and put them back on from scratch tonight and see what happens. I'll let you guys know. For our "fixed" release I'll make a new thread to elliminate the clutter here.

I'm a little baffled, the file Markus sent me doesn't crash when I just run it without doing anything. Perhaps I did something wrong then -- I'm going to re-do transactions and give it a whirl. We might finally have a fix.

i downloaded the cf209_v2.1 however i do not know how to unpack from zip file to the saved games area of ootp 9. when i use the zip central utility it states that there is illegal parameter and other error. i have downloaded the file twice with same results. any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks

i simmed all they way to 2021 without a crash, autoplay. am i missing something? they seem to work fine to me, i gave up after 2021.

There are older test versions of the file which were up. But they don't quite work properly, so a new release is coming out when Cubby is ready.
