Beta Baseball entering 27th season, seeking 3 owners!

Well, hello all. I run a pretty decent fictional league, with some even more decent owners, and I've done so for a while now. We're somewhat quirky (we have 4-man rotations, among others), we're fictional, and set in a fictional world. We have three openings, so here's a brief description of available franchises:

George Falls Barons

A once glorious franchise that needs some direction. They finished with a .500 record last year, and could use some help. They need infielders, one outfielder, and a bunch of pitchers to surround 26-year old ace Dutch Kuntz, who recently signed a 2-year extension. The good news is that the team has deep pockets and a low payroll - it could be a contender in a very short time. Can you bring them back to the top?

Skojpp Bombers

They had a dynasty going on in the early 2020's, but it's gone downhill ever since. They finished in 4th place (out of 6) last season, and despite a young core, they lack any kind of depth, and have lost their ace to free agency. This is an interesting challenge, one that I'd love to get my hands on if I didn't already have a team in this league. They play in our equivalent to Coors Field, so power hitters are more than happy to join this team!

The Pines Verts

Oh boy, the Verts. They just plain suck. They've finished in last place the past 3 years, and they won a pathetic 47 games last season. If you're the type of person who likes to build from the ground up, well, here's your chance! They're awful all around, have 2 or 3 decent starting players, but that's it. Even their minor league system isn't that deep. If you're up for it, the Verts need some help.

Just want to recommend this long running, well commished league. Its about to start FA bidding- which is by league forum- so those teams with some money have a chance to pick up players right away.

Free agency's starting today. GF has $75mil, SKO has $15mil, and PIN has $79mil, and all of them are severely under budget, so there's a lot of potential there.

LLN I might be interested in joining.
I see that it is talent only. Can you see a players defense and speed/stealing/baserunning ratings or are those turned off as well?

Endurance, defense and "secondary" skills are on a 1-10 scale, and are therefore visible.

Ok I think I am interested then. Are the Verts still avaliable? Taking a team from nothing to something sounds like a challenege and a lot of fun.

They are still available, should you want them. I'm warning you though: they're horrid! If you want to win relatively soon, the Barons are a much better decision, because the division the Verts are in feature the top 2 teams in the league while the Barons' division isn't that strong.

I will take the Verts. I do not mind a horrible team. It gives me an excuse to suck for 10 years and deflect any criticism off my talent as a GM
