OOTP 8 shutting down

I am having issues with ootp 8 shutting down. Every time I click on the link for a players name. But then just recently it started to shut down just by auto-playing... each time I try to move the game forward it shuts down on me, closing the program completely and crashing, rendering the game useless.

Is there a way to fix this? or is my game totaled? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, I have the same problem except it's with OOTP 2007. Here's what's happening to me:

Hi, we're in our 8th season of the Joy in Mudville League. However, when I tried to sim the next day in late July, I got this message:

ootp2007.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

I reloaded the game, tried doing other things besides simming such as moving players around on the roster, making a trade, checking out the record book and I just keep getting the same message and then the game shuts down.

I was able to open and run other dynasties without any problem.

For the record, I'm running the game on an HP XP. Any ideas?

I have the same thing for ootp 2005.

Just played my first game, get a crash when it creates the game report, or whenever I press a few options, like trying to get to my managers email and stuff like that. Pretty much just like the above post.

Completely kills the game. Also have XP
