Expansion Vote
I've always wanted to expand a league that I'm running and, since I have full control, will do so in 2010 for my league using Cubby's rosters.
So, I've decided one team will be in Las Vegas, but I'm undecided on which city will be awarded the second team. Please join the committee to award one of the cities listed below an MLB franchise!!! |

You should have told us where you currently have franchises, as that would affect our vote. For example, I eliminate San Jose out of hand not only because of the number of teams located in California that I imagine, but its proximity to San Francisco where I bet you have a team already.
For the same reason, I eliminate Portland, too close to Seattle (although I sometimes eliminate Seattle in my league setups to include a favorite of mine, the Portland Beavers). New Orleans is a sentimental favorite, naturally, but enough already with that. Buffalo and Anchorage are too far north for baseball except under a dome. Buffalo is too close to Toronto to support that and Anchorage is not big enough (besides, I'm still having vestigial viscerally negative reactions to anything, or anybody, from Alaska right now). Hawaii is too far away. I can see flying there for an occasional football game, but not baseball given the number of games in the schedule. That leaves Indianapolis, Memphis, Louisville, and Charlotte. Of these, I think (my opinion only) that only Memphis and Charlotte have the population, growth rate, and economy (relatively speaking, of course ) to support a professional baseball team.Of those two, my choice: Charlotte, NC. (Assuming, of course, you don't already have a team in Raleigh or Winston-Salem. )

I mentioned that I was using Cubby's rosters which are current, so I have all the current MLB franchises. I like Charlotte as well, though I voted for the sentimental choice in Buffalo - another NY team is ok by me. |

I voted Memphis - always thought baseball would do well in that city.

Thanks, guys.
I took the Las Vegas and put them in the AL West. I then put the Charlotte Cherokees in the NL East and moved the Cardinals to the AL West so each League now has 16 teams. Thanks for voting |

IIRC, the Cardinals were opposed to division play in 1969 unless they played in the same division with the Cubs. I think Houston should move to the West.
