Pre-1901 set-up
Hello,
I've posted this in another thread and gotten some good help there, but unfortunately I haven't been able to resolve the problem yet, so thought I might be able to get some more advice here too. I am trying to start a historical league from 1871. I go through the set-up to create a historical league, select to start from 1871 and am loading the master.csv file (have tried the historical omd file too which doesn't work either). I then select a few options and try to start game, but I get the message that there are an uneven number of teams in a league (9 teams all loaded into one league). If I try some later years I get a message that there need to be an even number of divisions in each league. I know other people have gotten this to work by editing the league, but I can't even edit the league. The menu says I can't edit the league because it is a historical league. I know I have the most up to date version of the game and database (just bought the game a few days ago). I really want this to work. Pre-1900 play is one of the reasons I bought the game but obviously I'm finding it very difficult to get it started without having seemingly having to have an in-depth knowledge of editing files. Any ideas or suggestions out there? I'd love to hear them. Thanks in advance. |

Well, I got some help and now have this problem solved. It seems you have to move the historical omd file out of the stats folder to get the teams file to read properly. I'm not sure why this is, but maybe it could be changed to make it easier for people in the future.
Perhaps it's being worked on already, but with the way the game works now, you can't have an odd number of teams, so it isn't historically accurate. A bit nitpicky, but it'd be nice to be able to have the same teams. |
