Game crashes when you click on lineups/pitching
Version: 9.2.13
PC/MAC: PC What were you doing? Trying to access lineup or pitching screens. What happened? When I selected the lineup or pitching screen the game freezes and get an error stating that OOTP baseball has stopped working. Have been playing the game for several months and no problems until a couple of weeks ago. Reproducible? Yes Problem occurs with other leagues? Yes, tried stating a new league and the problem persisted. Any help would be greatly appreciated. (This is copy and pasted from a locked topic but I'm having the same problem and no solution was provided) Original link: http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...-pitching.html Last edited by JL_Amato; 01-09-2009 at 07:38 AM. Updated to the newest patch and it's still occurring.

Did a complete uninstall and deleted the files from the C drive and it's still occurring.
I can click on just about everything else but if I touch my roster, pitching, or lineups the program completely crashes. |

So is there a tech support phone number I can call or can I just get a refund on the game?
I've only had it for about 3 weeks and to have this happen then to not get any sort of response from the tech guys is pretty lame. |

There is no phone number. Only volunteers who assist in their free time. Please have a bit of patience.
Which operating system are you using, how much RAM do you have, and how much free hard drive space do you have? Are all of your Windows files and graphic card drivers up to date? Have you defragmented your hard drive recently? Will the game crash on the Free Agent screen? |

2) AFAIK, yes all my drivers are up to date. Yes, I haven't defragmented my hard drive recently. 3) No it doesn't. The only things that seem to make it crash are clicking on links to my roster page, lineup page, or my pitching page. Last edited by JL_Amato; 01-09-2009 at 07:53 PM. Will the crash occur no matter which team's roster/lineup/pitching screen you view, or is it only limited to the team that you control? |

The crash occurs no matter what team I'm looking at or playing as. If I even try to touch any of those buttons the software crashes. |

Can you try running OOTP with FaceGen disabled, or in one of the two troubleshooting modes? You'll find these options in the Game Preferences button in the opening screen.
Which resolution are you running at? Could you try switching it? Could you try cycling between full screen and windowed mode? |

2) My resolution is at 1024x768. I messed around with the resolution and it didn't do anything either. 3) Flipping from windowed mode to full screen did nothing as well. Something I probably should have mention earlier is that the problem started after my computer went to the blue screen of death while OOTP9 was open. |

Assuming that you didn't buy the game through Steam, you could contact support@elicense.com for a refund. |

Well is there a better way of removing it from my computer than just uninstalling it?
My personal theory is that it's something corrupt in the program files but even uninstalling and reinstalling didn't seem to do anything to the problem. |

Well, you can try. There are potentially three areas where the game stores files, though the uninstallation procedure should remove them.
One is the installation directory, often in Program Files. If you installed to the default directory, your saved games and the like will be found in My Documents. Otherwise, they will be put in your main directory. The third area is in the hidden Application Data folder, which I believe for Vista is found at C:\users\(your username)\appdata\roaming\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 9 |

I'm seeing the same thing. I've been running the software just fine for quite a while... my machine froze as I was finishing a game, and had to do a hard reboot. After that, I can't access a Lineup page for any team. The application crashes.

Hopefully you might be able to give Nutlaw more info than I can and solve it for both of us. |

WOOHOO!
I think I might have fixed it. I just did a full uninstall and deleted all the parts of the game in the Documents folder and then reinstalled it. Seemed to have worked. You're going to lose any games you've started but at least the program will work. I'm not sure if you'd be able to copy your saves into another folder temporarily and then move them back after the reinstall but it might work. |
